Skiing under the influence

21. In other words, older and smarter than all the high schoolers in the thread who thought they were badass for stealing bud lights from their parents and drinking 2 on the mountain over the course of 3 hours on the mountain and considered themselves skiing drunk.

When I say drunk I mean blackout or nearly blackout. Not a couple of beers at lunch.

like you wouldn't believe. Just because I don't think it's cool to get blackout and then go skiing doesn't mean I don't like/know how to have fun

Lets have a blackout downhill race called the Watts 5000. Preferably at a mountain with the highest ice to gaper ratio.

Anybody want in?

Wow. Don't think I've ever had so many people butthurt at me at one time. Crazy how fucking stupid you kids are these days.

I'm not butthurt. I'll be having a good time while you're on the other end of the intrawebs bitching about safety and shit.

I remember when safety was about well, you know the stuff you discuss in safety meeting. Now people want to steal all the fun.

True, but the rest of these kids are.

Unfortunately skiing is inherently dangerous. You never know when something is going to go wrong that you can't control. There's no need to increase the risks anymore than you have to, and getting drunk certainly does that.

I mean I drink with everyone else, then drink while they're sleeping, and still drinking when they wake up. Seems to be pretty much the regular. Maybe you just can't handle your booze.

Since when did blackout drunk equate skiing under the influence? For a 21 year old you have trouble reading the thread...

My goodness you get you get butthurt easily.

They clearly weren't that drunk.

I never said you can't ski drunk, just that it's much less safe to do so, and therefore stupid.

It doesn't. That was the specific premise WankerTanker and I set up for our argument. Please try and make sure you're keeping up and know what is going on before insulting someone next time, okay?

"Anyone who thinks it's cool to get drunk and ski is a fucking moron who shouldn't be allowed on the mountain."

"No. It's like drinking and driving. It may be fun, but you don't do it because it's dangerous for those around you. If you think it's funny to put people in danger, you're a fucking moron who shouldn't be allowed on the mountain."

"or i just don't feel like putting people in danger"

"nobody can ski hammered"

"It's not a misconception, dumbass. If you combine legitimate drunkness, speed, and other people, it's going to be a dangerous situation. Don't be an idiot and pretend otherwise."

"no, i just don't think it's safe to ski drunk. the same way i don't think it's safe to drive drunk."

And how does that prove they were really drunk? He had one drink and the start of another.

And no (though that is the premise we're working with), but there's a big difference between skiing after 2 or 3 beers and skiing after 10+. All I'm arguing is that skiing on 10+ drinks makes it less safe. Really not sure why so many people are so adamant about disagreeing.

And which one of those, besides "nobody can ski hammered" (which I maintain, you can't ski well, or at least as well as you normally would if you're blackout or near blackout) contradicts what I said about skiing drunk being possible, just less dangerous?

A few shots of whiskey in the parking lot is the move. Loosens me up and I'm always more willing to try throwing tricks in the park. Plus it keeps you warm. And almost always blaze on the ride to the mountain or on the lift.

"When I say drunk I mean blackout or nearly blackout. Not a couple of beers at lunch."

yes, it was.

Idk what yall know bout dabs , but lemme tell you, take one out the rig and that ride up is like a magic carpet ride in heaven

I think those all fall under the "skiing is inherently dangerous" category, not the "don't do stuff to make skiing more dangerous than it already is" category.

I drink occasionally(First day of the year, gaper day, couple rando days) and smoke almost every time I go skiing. Some will say that is irresponsible, to that I say I don't give a fuck. Skiing drunk is some of the most fun you will ever have. fact.
