Skiing to Wakeboarding

is the transition hard? or r they 2 totally different things.. I wanna try wakeboarding, is it fun? progressive.. etc..???

it's a really good cross over. but it impoves your ability to pick up snowboard were u to do such a thing 10 fold.

 
i dont think there is too much in common. i do both. it helps with like air sense cus its not as scary to try stuff. it is somehting that is as fun as skiing.

wakeboarding looks awsome, i dont know how the transition will be though

all the worlds a terrain park and the people are just jibbers.

wakeboarding is so cool, but its so different than skiing, but who cares it so much fun

it's really different than skiing. since i snowboarded for years i was able to pick it up quick. if you are a half decent snowboarder then you'd have no problem

Its weird how you can totally change your axis in the air by just tugging on the rope, nothing like that in skiing.

Way different, you have to really lean back and pull into the wake to get air!

Air sense helps and that is it, but it's soo easly to learn

it is way different, i have been doing it for a few years, i can do backrolls and stuff cause it isnt scary, it is just hard to learn how to go big. If anyone needs some bindings i am selling a pair of CWB Method bindings!!!

I got these for about 200 dollars and i used them for two years, I will sell them for 100 dollars or best offer, they come with thumb screws. they are a little more used than those, but still in great shape, they are size L-XXL binding

 
wakeboarding is probably the second greatest thing in this world next to skiing sex and 420. It is nothing like skiing....well except for mabe air awareness. The pogression in the sport of wakeboarding is super fast especially if you ride with poeple who are better than you. unlike skiing wakeboarding is a sport where tricks for the most part have to be done a certain way. handle in the right position edging on the wake etc.. if your getting into it, spend a little time riding on your own then head over to a school or something and get some pointers. you will pogress a lot faster this way.

Yah, wakeboarding is great, if you can afford the gas. That's my problem with it, if you want to get really good, you either have be rich, or be friends with someone who is. Good boats don't come cheap. Luckily this summer i'll be hanging out with a guy who's good friends with a guy who runs a wakeboard camp, so if there is a god, i'll be ripping behind a 60000 dollar malibu wakeboard boat this summer.

its fun, and pretty easy to pick up. I do it a little in michigan every year.

i think the future of wakeboarding is gonna be places like the OWC down in Orlando. Giant jib parks accesible by anyone via cable. no boat needed and it's not that expensive. there are fairly cheap ways to get into wakeboarding. you don't need a 70 thousand dollar boat. you can easily buy a boat for 10 grand and put five into fat sacs and tower pilons etc and your set. knowing someone who has a wake boat helps tho
