Skiing switch at 80mph

***Officially recorded by a Guinness official.

I can say without a doubt people have gone faster switch. They just don't have the ego to feed or money to pay for an 'official' to come verify the event.

I dunno about that. who do you think has gone faster switch? 128 km/h is pretty damned fast. At the hill I normally ski at you can`t even get going that fast with a full race setup.

I like how at 128km/h he makes a 180 to go back normal.. I would be a pussy to try going back normal at that speed !

people who think this isn't fast, 128kph switch is pretty damn fast, trust me...

most of you guys probably haven't even reached 128kph straight ...

none of these kids have. if they say they are, they are lying. even pro downhill racers only get up to 80 on the absolute steepest sections of a course, when they are pretty much free falling. i did a few super-g events when i used to race, and the fastest ive ever been clocked was 62. thats with 188 skis, a speed suit, racing helmet, mouth shut, and pole straps taped. i was in the lowest tuck possible down the steepest section of the course, and i was terrified.

that's too bad, you must ski on a small hill, I've gone around 70 mph multiple times on my normal setup.

how do I know? the sled I'm keeping up with has a friend and a speedometer.

and I know I've gone faster. and I'm sure if ive gone that fast, others have done so backwards.

hi haters.

At my homemountain, Vars, is where the world championships of speed goes on so we have a nice place to take some speed. Well you can speed check yourself I got at exactly 97kph (i remember that day...)And I was literally blown away !! Haha in my mind I was like "dude, imagine you fall or something..."

Really great but scary feelings. Couldn't imagine doing that switch !

so you were being towed by a sled? it was probably 70 kph which is something like 40-50mph aka nothing too special

lol how old r u and where do you ski?

and wat mountain in the world would allow your frined to bomb down the hill on his snowmobile at 70 mph

thats probably even more ballsy than skiing 70 mph

i clocked 119 once in a slushy straightline (clocked with gps, i was so scared of catching an edge and dying :Plike really, anything above 100kph is damn fast imho ...

so youre telling me you were bale to hit 70mph on skis, downhill. and somehow your friend was alongside you on a sled doing 70 also. you must have been on a groomed trail.

doing 70 on a sled down a hill is sketchier then skiing down at that speed

and... what the fuck mountain lets someone sled down with a skier right next to them?

you sir, are a fucking idiot

racers go up to around 148kph, but thats just on the highspeed sections of a very few races! i did 83kph switch and when i look back i wonder how i cuold even try...

people have gotten goin pretty fuckin fast in the backcountry straight lining lines switch. Some of them probably going faster than tanner even, but i have to agree that this has to be the fastest

If you were clocked that speed on a highway, anywhere in Canada, you would get a ticket. Folks, its fucking fast....

You know what is really stupid? The Imperial system. Stupid ounces and feet or yards or whatever the fuck it is. Metric system for the win! Show me the grams and metres my logical metric brethren!

Also, that switch straightline was baller. He should have done it in a thong though

i hit 72-74 at pc this year. pretty scary considering i was wearing baggy ass clothes riding beat to shit park skis.

second time ive seen something along these lines tonight. they were clocking him on chads and here is a shot of it.
