ill be skiing sugarbush next year and was wondering who skis there regularly, is there a team or do a bunch of kids just ski together? ive seen a bunch of vids of the park and stuff, i guess mainly ive seen the rails, what are the jumps like?

this past season I switched over to bush after going to smuggs for like 7 years. in the past bush has had some pretty good jumps but I guess this last season the main jump groomer quit or was fired or something so the jumps were shit all year. they had dope rails though..

check my vids to see some stuff

I ski there regularly. Hit me up if you need a ride-

Regarding team, there is Diamond Dogs, and they ride moguls and park together. (I don't know much about them; I am on it)-

This year the jumps kind of sucked. There was this loading drop thing, but the landing was either to far or not steep enough for that to really work, other to trip racer migrations.

Then there was a three jump line, which none of them where really great. Rails, on the other hand are prime. I wish they'd set up a plain flat bar, besides that, prime.-

Have you been there before? or is this really your first time there?

yeah total first time, ive been skiing stowe for the past few years but due to crowds/expenses my family is coming to sugarbush next year, i know a few kids who came to stowe this year from sugarbush though (kieren mcveigh and dylan ward)

sugarbush is the closest mountain to me from college, so i go there every weekend and some weekdays, when im not home on break. they had a rough park season this year with the lack of snow to get jumps up (took until january) and all the features in for the entire park. then at the end of the season the park groomer was offered a full time opportunity for his photography studio and ended up quitting with about 2 weeks of the season left.

there is a thread on here that everyone wrote down conditions and updates as the year progressed. a few pictures of the jumps and rails are in there as well.

sugarbush = tons of jibs + mediocre jumps + lots of wooded areas on both peaks for those pow days

If you went to stowe, sugarbush is going to be a major downgrade park wise, I will however say there is a really fun environment and you can pretty much talk to/ski with whoever is there. But again, park is not top quality, basically speaking jumps. For example their biggest jump last year had a takeoff about the size of the first one in tyro, a 10 foot gap and the landing was always ice, and the size of the back side of the jump. proportionally it looked like this. (you get the idea)

If you know the basics of the Bush already, disregard this

If you nothing about Sugarbush then this is important. There is two mountains connected by a long ass lift ride (only on weekends) or bus.

The left, bigger peak is known as Lincoln. I personally prefer the terrain at Lincoln better. This is the side that opens first, stays open later in the season and has some great skiing. Unfortunately, there is no park*.

This brings us to Mt. Ellen the other peak. This side is mellower, and usually more locals only crowd. This side holds the park and if you race, the racecourse too.

Sugarbush knows how to move people around so, neither side every has long waits. Also, they each have great bumps and woods.

*Usually during Early or late season, Lincoln will set some rails or shit to mess around with

I have had a seasons pass there the past few years, but am off to college out west next year, so I am done with the area.

There are great woods near the top of the north ridge life that do not get tracked very quickly. As well as churches which is off of the heavens gate chair (on lincoln peak)

The park kid of sucked this year, the jibs were pretty good, but the jumps were limited and kind of sucked.

One nice thing about sugarbush is that it very rarely gets crowded. I have been there during christmas vacation (granted it was -10) but there was still not line for any of the lifts.

It is a fun place with a lot a coll spots to explore. the park isn't great, but the rest of the mountain is fun.

the crowds at stowe were getting insane this year, psyched to actually be able to ski instead of waiting in linesssssssssss

and yeah who usually rides together? im assuming ill just be riding alone haha

you can easily meet some people there just lapping the park. there are usually some pretty decent skiers lapping the park or sessioning something in a good size group.

everyone is really chill there and welcoming to basically any skill level. real good vibe.
