So this year i dropped over 1,000$ not including ski tickets and plane ticket out west and 4 days of 50$ lift tickets, so maybey around 2,000$ total this year. Skiing rules my life, i also lost my girlfriend due to skiing (oh well wasn't working out) but i would rather ski honestly, its not likes we can ski all year.

What have other NS sacrificed for skiing??
 
I moved countries for skiing, it changed my life in such a positive way. I still get so super stoked every day. In the meantime I took a lot of trips overseas, New Zealand, Argentina, Colorado, Utah........ a lot of expenses but fuck, thats what work is for.

I wouldn't say that skiing rules my life. It's more like a catalyst, that makes it easier to make choices that influence my life tremendously. Even without skiing I always wanted to live in foreign countries and travel different places meeting new people. For most people that's such a big step. Skiing makes that so easy.
 
Same, I was hooking up with a girl and she wanted to start a real relationship but I declined due to it being winter. I've put over 10,000 miles on my car this winter alone to go ski, driven 10 hours to ski pow for 8 hours, spent tons of money, taken 5 sick days from work, lost contact with lots of my friends for the past 3 months (the ones that don't ski/board) and basically live out of my car on the weekends. And I don't regret it a single bit.
 
Dude, I'm not good at anything else. All I do is ski, year round. The only people who think I do something with my life ski or board and see me at the mountain.
 
same here man , its pretty good. Most people I talk to that arent skiers or boarders all seemed bored shitless of winter, I dont want it to end. Skiing is the best cure for winter blues, not one skier complains in winter, 75% of the rest of the population does . It gives you something to do and keep you active. I daydream about it in class. And generally girls like skiers which is a plus .
 
Grades for sure. Money bigtime. Haha I needed new skis around New Years so I didn't pay rent and bought skis. My landlord is an old-time skiier though so he was pretty chill about it!
 
$$$$$$$$ I pour at least 50 bucks into my tank every time I go up, and I've logged at least 30 days this year. grades are still good though.
 
I can vouch for skiing ruling my life, i ski multiple days a week and i never read for class.
 
Yeah snowboarding rules my life. I haven't done anything with people from my school since winter started. The people at school don't understand skiing and snowboarding like I do (except for some fags). Pretty much all of my friends are my snowboarding friends because they are actually chill and understand my obsession of snow.
 
yea i get paid on friday and by monday i'm broke, i spend like 140$ a weekend skiing...shit is out of control, but believe me i would much rather be broke and ski, then have money and not ski...
 
HOLY SHIT, thats alot, why wouldnt you just buy a season pass to a certain mtn, it sounds like you are buying a lift ticket and lunch each day. Youu gotta get that shit straight, bring bag lunch saves you 10-20 a day. But yeah skiing is a bitch, i want to find somewhere to live when im done with school where i can windsurf all summer, and ski freshies all winter, and still make enough dough to support that kinda of lifestyle. Either way i love my life and wouldnt change it for anything....besides living out west, which i will be in a couple of months
 
yea i know i have a season pass to one mountain, but i kinda dont ski there anymore... i ski at a different one, and i yea i do buy a lift ticket everyday, but good thing its only 20 bucks, and i dont know why i dont bring a lunch, guess i am just lazy
 
my grades and schoolwork suffer. i do well in the fall semester, but come the spring/winter semester i do not get anything done. i dont want school to end, when it is over i fear that i am going to feel like i did not learn anything and that i am complely deviod of any employable skills. but oh well, i can look foward to 2nd shift security and skiing in the morn
 
skiing is really all i think about in school and out of school

same. i work all summer and then but gear with the $$$. so im basically broke for the rest of they year. other thansacraficing $, i loose grades, girls, 1/2 my social life, and i totaly loose my mind to skiing
 
yeah its kinda fucked up some relationships, but not really a big deal. its really just cost me alot of money. but fuck that i want to die broke
 
im failing all my classes. having no social life on the weekends, and broken to many bones for it.oh and wasted countless hours on ns.

-money, yeah always in need of it, it seems like something always needs to be replaced every year, need new pants/backpack/shovel/beacon for next season :(
 
yeah i know, people complain like its soo cold or like, today someone said, i want it to be sunny and hot,

so im just like fuck that, i want it to stay cold 11 months out of the year. and 1 month for like lake stuff

haha

but seriously, i seem to get obsessed with stuff i get into, now its skiing for sure. all off summer and pretty much everyday is lost to skiing thoughts

grades been dropping, ive become lazy (idk if that skiing/ns'sfault)

and my social life has been dying on weekends. especially with girls, because the only thing i want to talk about would be skiing hahah
 
am only 14 and I am already getting a job this summer just for skiing because I plan to get some good stuff this year. My grades haven't gone down i don't know why they would go down but I have deffinetly gave way to much money to my home resort
