Skiing related activities during summer

This is probably a repost, but share your ideas on skiing related activities during the summer.

Obviously we can hit the trampoline, but yesterday I was chilling with a snowboarding friend of mine, and we came up with something, which was mad fun. All you will need is:

Old skateboard deck

Shoelaces

A rail (preferably a round rail)

Use the shoelaces as bindings on the old skateboard deck and jib the rail. This is obviously snowboarding related, but it is really fun even for skiers, and you can get really technical, when you get the hang of it.

You can do this on the grass outside, or put a carpet on your floor so those rainy days get more fun.

Inb4 "this shit's old". Maybe a few of you out there did not know, so I wanted to share this.

Have fun!

Trampoline is number 1 thing.. and second is imagination needed one D: basically if you have selfmade rail you will do ski tricks on it. 270 in sw 270 out etc.. but with ur normal boots:D Its more fun than it hears..

Then ofcourse diving.

Jibbingame anyone?

trampoliningrollerblading

slack lining

cliff jumping

hiking in the mountains you ride on

skateboarding

and im sure there is a shit ton more stuff to do related to skiing

Great stuff here K+ all.

I'll maybe try slackline some day ...

Has anybody tried the skateboard deck jibbing? What can you do?

It's really fun, I did bs board, 3 swap, 2 out on a round pvc rail the other day.

slackline is awesome, inline is something i want to try out this year, and trampoline is cool but its only really helpful if your at a level to start trying flipsr

Aggressive inline's really easy. It is very similar to sliding rails on skis. And about trampolining, you should try flips ... It is actually really easy, once you commit to it.

i don't have a problem, i can ski all year round on bristles! but no way does it compare to snow.anyways:

agressive inline

trampolining

skateboarding

downhill mtb

bmx

diving

surfing/bodyboarding (if you're lucky enough to live near a beach)

kayaking

Haven't tried it, this is gonna sound dumb but ima post it anyways: maybe get 2 decks and use them like skis instead of having 1 deck like a snowboard.

Also, in the summer tramps, skating, summer setups and a lot of imagination and creativity.

I am sure they would be to wide, and I would have no control with shoelaces as bindings, haha. :-) Aggressive inlines are where it's at!

a summer jib setup isnt too difficult, just set up some astroturf, spray some water and dishwashing liquid on it, and put a rail at the bottom. simple. :)

1) Biking

2) Longboarding

3) trampoline

4) skateboarding

5) aggressive inline

and of course, grass skiing

summer training for me will consist of biking(not all that good at it, but itll be a mix of xc, dh, and dirtjumping), tramping on flybeds, rock climbing, hiking, yoga, and glacier skiing

repost. I tramp, skateboard and also you can just practice rail tricks on a ledge or something in your shoes.

Shameless self promotion but it sure helped a fucking ton on my skiing, I like to call it ski blading

yeah inline and trampoline are the two best activities outside of skiing. You need to do more than royales man. Learn a few different grinds and mix it up. You'll notice it takes alot more control and balance improving you rail game on skates thus making your rail game on skis way better.

Taking a break from skiing is best for me. I can recharge the stoke meter and be more excited for opening day. Time also flies when you dont have to think about an addiction.

damnit. i quit skating a while ago and sold all my pretty nice gear (fiziks frames, higgs boson antirockers, usd sagona thrones). now that edit makes me want to start doing it again

that really made me want to start fruit booting. I've heard people hate on guys trying to look like skiers when they skate but that was so ill.

i mean doing flips on skis, i can do them, at east some of them, on a tramp. im just not ready to take them to skis yet.

On a rainy day(not pouring but drizzling) go to a local mountain and ski down a trail that is pretty steep but doesn't have to many rocks exposed. It works I did it after a rail jam last June on a trail where the grass was really tall.

the most simple Backyard setup:

last summer i took some old skis and i cut them into pieces about they length of the bottom of some old shoes. I then bought some epoxy from home depot and glued them to the bottom of the old shoes so i basically had snowblades the size of my shoes so i could run in them (shoeblades). I then put two 10x2 pvc pipes on a 2x4 so it was about 4 inches off the ground. I then put the rail in my backyard and i would run in the shoes and do a bunch of stuff on the rail. i actually learned switch ups and pretezels this way. Really entertaining also

Ya I can do the classic grinds too (mizu, soul, pornstar, acid, etc) I'm pretty solid on a pair of skates but I just have more fun thinking I'm skiing and getting my flow on..

Oh and if there's an ice rink somewhere near you then talk to them and say u wanna use their snow (they usually have enough snow to ski in summer). Or maybe there already is some setup behind an ice rink near you.

skier as fuck. i think you posted this before cause i was wondering why you still had widebodies. Basically, if I saw you, I'd ask if you knew how to get to chads gap.

I picked up fruit booting last summer, and while I suck at rails I really enjoy just cruising around and tranny finding everything.

buy one of those plastic wallmart snowboards and jib with it its fun i ski and still do it all the time get a super flexy one tho it makes it better, and tramps of course
