This was offered as 70% Brag, 30% advice asking, SIR. I also haven't posted on NS in what feels like at least 18 months and wanted to see how nice to me people are.

So many so called pros can't ski pow properly.. they all hack and look like 12 year olds with no technique .. if you wanna learn to ski pow properly watch Candidem Tanner or Adam Delorme ski pow.. stacked body postion.. no upper body momemnt .. thats how you ski pow pow

I am actually needing to learn for my trip in 2 weeks. Ive heard there is something to do with a bouncing up and down and you turn at the peak of the bounce. Any tips for firstimers? It is always so awkward the one day a year we do get pow because using an edge is such a habit.

This. OP, stop jogging and dropping your inside arm/shoulder. That puts too much pressure on your uphill ski which is no good for a variety of reasons. Keep them shoulders sqaure

1. You missed a prime slash opp right in front of the camera guy

2. Should have buttered somewhere

In all seriousness you look pretty good.

true. CR did it very well too. His pow segments at Baker and in EDIAS are beautiful. Such a fluid skier

I've been cross-media burned

Actually saw this exact trick in a pro edit.

OP I was about to suggest you show me your pow stash and follow me but truth is there is more pow than I have the energy to slash right now. I'm still feeling the effects of yesterday and this forecast looks like it will bring even more snow than I know what to do with. It's great to see you're getting after it.

CR Johnson before he got hurt the 1st time was on a level like Sean p and Candide are now.. No shit Candide Thovex and CR pre head injury are the two best skiers go ever live.

Pollard is by far my favorite skier. After the Sky Falls was a pure work of art

although its hard to tell cause you got blower covering ya for most of the vid i think you're moving you're shoulders with your left turns, try to keep em as square to the fall line as possible and extend through the turn, compress in the transition for maximal face-shot inducing pittage

If you keep your inside arm forward instead of dropping it back wash turn it will calm your upper body a lot and improve your turns

Wiggle so it goes in your mouth.

I've also been experimenting this year with using my arms to help hold the faceshot to my face so it feels bigger.

Visibility has suffered but I've gotten some really long face shots.

For full immersion sometimes I lean all the way downhill when I turn so that my bases are pointed straight up at the heavens. I then pivot on my head and flip over kinda like a sideways somersault. It's like getting baptized.

Yep, a decidedly more advanced maneuver, but very gratifying.

Also works well if you're trying to get face shots on groomers.

If you have solid technique you don't change anything, pow just punishes bad technique a lot more than on something groomed so people sometimes never realize that they just have all around meh technique

Are you fucking jogging or skiing? I ask because your arms are flailing around like a madman.

You gotta fix that shoulder roll/ arm drag shit.... it honestly looks hack

First ski resort in ohio opens today at 8:30 with 20 inches of freshies from one storm!!! I need some tips on how to ski it because I never can turn easy or i fall on my face. This year i got the rossi s3 for an all mountain ski so hopefully those will help over a center mounted park ski. Do people on here do the bounce up and down motion with their turns? There was a really good steamboat springs video on youtube for this technique. Thanks as always!!!
