You put on your boots, click into your bindings, dust the snow off your skis, and head out for the chair. It doesn't matter that you failed a test, didn't get the girl, or that your life is on a one way trip down the shitter, your world is right for the next couple of hours.
 
It’s from surfing but my old instructor used to talk about carving like it was surfing and would say “You just drop in, smack the lip... Waapah! Just drop down... Swoopah! And then after that, you just drop in, ride the barrel, and get pitted!!!!” Like the dude from the news interview. Now I can get my hip into the hill while carve over large rollers transition my turn in the air and land in another carve!

I find myself responding with "oh sure buddy", in the thickest Canadian/Wisconsinite accent I can muster when my shred buddies are asking me if they should try a certain trick.
