It took Bobby Brown and Sammy Carlson just under 6 months after Torstein landed a triple to do a triple. Quads wil come to skiing soon enough, and when that day happens guess what? Nothing will change because none of the jumps at any comp are big enough to land one
You're so wrong. Everything will change! There will be nothing but quads in comps, even in the park at the smallest hills nothing but quads. Hold onto your vhs players because that's the only was you're ever going to see a spin under 2160 again. Quads on jumps, quads onto rails, quads at urban spots near the college quad. The world is going to end. Before that day there will be a few who still resist even when the other 99% of the skiing community has given into the lust for quad corks.

But seriously, we have had dub corks for quite a while, triple corks for a few years, and you barely see anything over a 7 in the parks. There's a whole movement around style and creativity both in the riding, filming, feature design, contest running etc.
We can bitch all day about how people are spinning over 180s but it's not going to change shit. Maybe you're bitter, but it doesn't really matter. You can ride, only spinning 90 onto rails, never spinning on jumps, never throwing a grab that was invented after 1993, it doesn't matter.
As far as the spins, the 3's 5's and 7's people are throwing today are a million times cleaner than the ones being thrown 20 even 10 years ago.
I love the old school stuff. I still have movies from the 90s-early 2000's. I don't even want to see quads everywhere. It's just understanding that not everyone everywhere is going to do quads. You aren't going to take your kids to the sledding hill and see quads all day off the little shitty 2 foot jump.
IMO the hate is kind of childish. I get different opinions, I get that you don't like it, but the vigor with which people are lashing out against quads is insane. As if this is the worst thing to ever happen in the world. I do agree on one point. Poverty, natural disasters, clean water, and starvation are all pretty bitch ass compared to the real life struggle of having to hear about other people potentially throwing quad corks on skis at some time in the future.
As stated, I don't even care to see dub corks out of the once in a great while for a photoshoot or maybe xgames big air(Which is about all we'll see them) but the amount of hate this whole thing has drawn, and the amount people have put into getting fully worked up about this shit is ridiculous. Smoke a bowl, watch some planet earth, fly somewhere cold and build a snowman, just accept that other people are going to have fun on skis their way(that realistically doesn't even impact you), and move on with your lives.
