People need to start mellowing out when it comes to skiing. Look at are mainstream athletes, it seems all that matters is image. then all the kids try to imitate them by getting there parents to buy them the latest coat tanner is wearing or some bling to put around there neck. then there's the 'stylie' riders, who just sit around talking about style. ya style is what seperates one rider from the next but so does skiing. quit dissing other peoples style. that's the way that person feels comfortable riding. the person throwin a big 'mogul' 3 is probably having more fun then you stressing about your monkey steeze. perfect your style, play with it, but most of all have fun with it. then there's the park 'vetrans'.Just cause youve been in the park longer then most of these kids have been skiing, doesn't meen you have to yell at the kid so much that he never wants to come back in the park when he accidently cuts you off before your hit. Remember your first dayz in the park. Isn't this kind of structure the reason people starting freeskiing in the first place? look at us, were turning into abunch of FIS like assholes. Next time you see some kid in the park struggling on his steeze, or not wanting to call his hit cause he's afraid of pissing off the guy next to him, remember, we used to actually do this sport for fun.

Hey, fuck you! I've been skiing in the park longer than you've been alive. I'll do what I want and no one is going to tell me what to do, let alone some yuppie bitch like you! If I did a mogul 360, I'd kill myself because I wouldnt deserve to live any longer. Kids who cut me off deserve to have their balls cut off! I hate kids and I hate puppies, and kittens for that matter too. Whats the deal with their damn eyes looking at me? I just wanna rip em out sometimes!

and since when are us FIS skiers assholes? The last time I checked probably 50% of kids skiing the park are or used to be racers of some sort.

Your right skiing does need to change. It needs to go back to the times where you work on getting better at the sport and helping others do the same. People need to quit trying to act and dress like snowboarders. If you want to do that kind of thing, go to snowboarding and don't make skiing look bad. Everyone should work on the efectivness of all-round skiing on the mountain, and work on making your tricks in the park look good. And instead of a lot of people sitting around acting like posers, you need to be out there improving.

And im sure a ton of people will say that im 'dumb' and things like that, but those people are the ones that know skiing needs to be skiing, and not some other sport.

but seriously, little kids cutting jumps is no laughing matter, especially when the airs approach 70ft and guys are straightlining 200 yards up the hill in order to carry speed into the hit. It's not the kids I'm really mad at, it's the parents who take their three year olds into the park in order to teach them how to ski. This happened to me a few times last year, and the next time it happens, some guy is going to get a talking to from me, and I won't be talking, I will be screaming and throwing shit. Some one is going to die in a collision, and whether it's a park rat or a three year old, the consequences will suck.

i think that freeskiers need to ski for themselves while maintaining a good image for skiing, and we need to get others involved in the sport

and i defenitely dont want skiing to become a sport where the athletes get 15 million dollar contracts and are bribed with women and cars, like other sports

Why is it that when a pro NFL football player falls down wrong they take 5 minutes to get up with the assistance of three people, but when a skier bails hard from 10 feet up in the pipe, he's up in under 30 seconds skiing back down completely unassisted?

 
you realize how far snowboarders are ahead of us when you watch afterbang after strike 3. the skiing is better in strike 3 but everyone is trying to be a fuckin thug. Snowboarders dont give a shit, and thats what makes them better right now.

ya i think you're right, we just need more respect towards each other, i mean we bitch about how we hate boarders and boarders hate us, yet the same thing is happening between people in our sport, i mean i'm probably one to blame for this but i for one am willing to change somewhat
