I posted a little bit ago about marquette mountain in michigan's up and got good response.

I was just wondering what minimum size/length skis people recommend for up there.

I am about 5 9.

It's just yooper. Apostrophes are way too complicated for them. :P

And to the original poster, get some good all-mountain skis around 170 and make sure to get up to Bohemia sometime. It's about 2 and a half hours from Marquette, but it's the best skiing you'll find in the Midwest. Also, be ready for a shock, Marquette get 3x as much snow as the LP on average and the Keweenaw gets closer to 4-5x as much.

thanks alot guys.

and i know im so excited, me and my gf are snow rats.

what skis would you guys recommend.

i have some trouble makers i got for 200 and i can get big troubles or troubles for about the same. and what bindings?

okay go to Northern and live up in the UP, It does not matter what length? I guess mid 170's? The park is fun, pretty good backcountry. Whatever you want to ski get that kind of ski. for 5 9 go in the 170cm's

yeah thanks.

i have 160' which would probably just get me eating shit?

i wanna do alot of backcountry cause i will finally have the opportunity.

you dont need to bump every 5 mins bud, patience, yea for BC at Marquette anything around 100mm would be about the max you would really "need" you may go bigger if you want but there isnt enough powder unless you're rich
