Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Reno, Boise, SLC, and even LA have more resorts closer to town than Boulder. Smaller college towns like Bozeman, Bellingham, Bend, Santa Fe, Gunnison, etc have some killer ski vibes. Something to think about

It has a good park and some fun tree skiing, but the resort gets noticeably less snow than the I-70 resorts and has gotten a lot more crowded in the last five years. Boulder is only about 45 minutes from Eldora and not too far from the Summit County resorts, so if you have an Ikon pass it's a good option.
