Skiing is a silly sport

You can say shit like that about any sport there all silly, you really think hitting a ball with a bat is any different

this man has it all figured out. listen to what he has to say.

on the subject of baggy clothes, the reason why this has been allowed to occur is due to the lack of "dress code" in the sport. freedom is the single requirement for trends to develop. if you disrespect the people who dress in this fashion, keep in mind that you are also disrespecting their right to this freedom imo. myself, i do dress in baggy clothing but in no way do i consider myself a "gangsta". as soon as i get off of the slopes, i become a regular, educated citizen.

by the way, it is not in our hands to crush the dreams of becoming a pro in the minds of young nsers. well ive said my piece. hate it or like it, youre free to decide.

Toboggan.. tOboggan..

You are right, in that skiing is meant to be fun. But if people get fun out of dressing G then they should go ahead. If people have fun making edits then they should go ahead. If people have fun making pointless posts about the philosophies of skiing then who are we to stop them? Personally I love to ski, plain and simple.

So Thug!

I would wear a tall tee GTracing...In fact, I have. The voleurz guys do it pretty stylishly too if you ask me.

any other sport is as silly.

Think about curling: sweeping ice

Think about hockey: hitting a giant, hard Oreo with sticks

Think about darts: ...?

And especially...

Think about NASCAR: driving in circle...

So in the end, it's about having a great time... and popping a dub 12.

I just finished writing a paper on Marx and alienation, in one of the books I used a chapter on Kierkegaard directly followed the one on Marx. I flipped through it quickly and came across this quote: "The thing is to find a truth which is true for me, to find the idea for which I can live and die". I thought it was interesting so I was curious. I think it's a great outlook to have on life. Anyways, thanks for the legit answer. +Karma.

Just let them wear what they want, act how the want, and argue about what they want. If you don't like people that dress gangster then don't dress gangster. Don't go bitching about it.

not meant to be taken too literally, just something to keep in the back of your mind. skiing is a huge part of my life....thats why i chose to live in whistler.

i didn't mean to single out the thug thing.....i think wealthy people using skiing as a status symbol is just as ridiculous, and competitive racing is probably the most ridiculous of all... i know a couple people who are into competitive racing....and i dont even think they enjoy skiing anymore. all that matters is being faster

i used to think about why i devoted so much of my life to skiing.....but then i realized who cares, i dont need to know why i like it. i enjoy being on snow in the mountains and thats all i need to know
