Les Diablerets no doubt has the best park anywhere in october.

Otherwise I would check Saas-Fee, Zermatt, Kaunertal, and Hintertux is claiming to be good this autumn.

You can usually ski places in Montana in October, or at least I was last year. It's really dependent on weather (believe it or not!).
