Skiing in Nevada?

I found this photo on www.photo.net... and it shows these mountains in Nevada. But I've never heard of anyone skiing there, but with mountains like those... is there skiing in Nevada? I can imagine if you got helied up to the top of that you'd have a hell of a ski down.

There's some mountains, called the Ruby range near Elko in the middle of the desert which are pretty sick. That could also be Tahoe. The mountains on the east side of Tahoe are all or half in Nevada. You can ski from California to Nevada at Heavenly, in fact. Mt Rose, and one other that I can't remember right now are in Nevada.

Over time, most people experience life involving love, sufffering, compassion and an uspeakable drive for something new... for me there's skiing, nothing more nothing less and it encompasses everything, every day I'm out there.

half of lake tahoe is in nevada... if anyone's been to Heavenly, there's a trail that comes to a sign up at the top sayin' 'welcome to nevada'... its pretty cool... its like black and white... on the nevada side its flat desert, on the cali side and trees and rolling hills... heavenly's my favorite, i recommend it to anybody

there is, or was a ruby mountian heli ski operation... i havent heard anything about it recently though.... plus elko is a terrible town. but you can see the mountians from there, and they do look pretty nice...

That mountain actually kinda looks like mt rose...or close anyway. There's lotsa skiing in nevada, tons of good sledding and backcountry and all that...

haha I grew up in elko. The heli-ski is 10 miles out of town and I have done it twice. The rubies are realy nice mountains but the BLM wont let anyone put a resort up. There is also a small resort north of elko about 3 miles with one chair lift, it's shitty!
