i was wondering if someone can shed some insights on it ? I'm going there for the firs time and was wondering how generally the climate is there ? Going to be end of march.

Last time i was in the states was december/january in CO and we got frozen down, something we dont have in europe haha.

Is it more wet or also as dry as CO ?

naw it'll be generally/consistently warmer and sunnier than CO. obv weather happens but no it's a totally different ball game from CO. warmer wetter sunnier

Def not freezing but also not warm. It's really dependent on the sun, more than nearly every other place I've been to. Without sun it gets pretty cold. But you'll be more than fine in a hoodie maybe even a long sleeve on normal days.

I'll be there too! Maybe we can lap a little!

Wind is a major player, if it's windy all the upper mountain lifts will be on wind hold. If you are there just to ski park this shouldn't be a problem as the parks are all near the base. End of March is a coin flip, storms still can roll through but you likely will have spring like conditions. Summit is close to 12,000 feet so it stays pretty cold up there even on warm days.

Generally, when it's sunny it's nice spring like conditions. When the weather is mixed, bring an extra layer because it'll likely be windy and therefore cold (by my standard, Southern Cali resident). Snow conditions are dryer then other parts of the west coast but not quite as dry as Colorado/Utah/Idaho.

They have a ton of snow so the entire mountain will be open, you chose a great year to come to Mammoth!

Whattup dude, David from Skards here!

I moved to Mammoth in June 2019 after living my entire life in NY, and I can confidently say that Mammoth is one of the illest places to ski. The terrain is sick, the parks are always ballin', and if its not nuking snow its usually sunny and warm. There can definitely be a lot of wind so bring a windbreaker / have layers, but ultimately it's much warmer than Colorado.

Give a holler when you get here if you wanna spin some laps!
