Skiing in Hawaii who has done it?

Going there for new years thinking about maybe going skiing , is it worth taking the skis all the way there?

add that one to the bucket list. TGR likes to film weird places they should do that if its cool terrain. im definitely going to do this some day good luck with it if you do let us know how it goes

My friend did it. There is a road up a volcano on the big island (forget the mountain) and there is a bunch of snow. The seasons hardly matter too. You can drive and ski which is good b/c of the altitude. Any questions you can PM me and i'll ask him. Have fun!

coolest part would be a crater transfer:

having said that.. it seems like a novelty to me. you'd probably be lucky if conditions were actually good enough to let you ski...and if they are you might as well just use their crappy rental stuff (some rental shop nearby there)... cause the skiing will be shitty anyway

My friend went there and he tells me there was over a foot of snow on the big island's tallest volcanoes. It is worth bringing skis b/c it is free and there is an access road for an easy way up and down.

On another note, skiing and Hawaii are the only two words in English (I think) to have two i's.

yeah i looked into it when my family and i went to hawaii and it honestly seemed like more trouble than it would be worth. im not sure how the snow cover would be either. ive seen online that its iffy even during good snow years and if their snow year was anything like the continental u.s... it probably wouldnt be the greatest skiing

the altitude change sucks. You go from sea level to like 10,000 feet so I'd imagine skiing and hiking part of the volcano would be hell.
