Skiing in colorado

So next year i'm going to college at colorado school of mines in golden which is just west of denver which season pass should i get so far i looked at the epic season pass and the rocky mountain mountain super pass are there others i should look into and which do u recommend

save yourself the cashish and just get the colorado pass. you get 10 days at vail/bever creek and unlimited at the rest of the vail owned resorts in co (keystone, breck, and abay). the drive on i70 can be a real bitch so you probably arent going to ski as often as you think.
and no one gets the other one.. winter park has good terrain but no one goes there and why go to copper when key/breck have waaaay better parks and are closer.

it's not. WP is one of the most under rated resorts in the area. They have the most consistent snowfall year to year and the vasquez cirque has some way gnarlier terrain than a lot of the northern CO mtns. not to mention the back country options in the area like berthoud pass (my home) are unbeatable at times for snow quality.

that said, I'd get the 5 mtn. I had the WP/copper pass for 5 seasons and it was definitely fun, but the 5 mtn is just that much more versatile. You get the long a basin season, and you get to drive out to cool areas like beaver creek (best vibe of any ski area I've ever been to).

key and breck obviously have the most park options if that's your thing, even vail's park was decent I heard (I'm not not a park skier). not to mention lots of pro's hang around, in case you wanted to meet some or something.

aka itl be harder to get to unless he has a car. plus its not exactly known for its parks and judging his profile thats what he is into. so the parks of breck and keystone plus the early opening of a-bay and 10 days at vail/beaver creak would be more than enough.

i agree, living in castle rock myself and have a condo in keystone and with friends in bever the drive does suck and but worth it the colorado pass is deffinently ur best bet.

I'm not from Colorado and I don't ski there so I don't know the passes but I went there this winter and if you like rails make sure you go to Keystone.

To chose one mountain, winter park would for sure be my favorite. Lots of sick terrain, dark territory is a pretty decent park and the Mary Jane vibe is great. Not to mention free slopeside parking which you for sure won't get anywhere else (other than abay I guess). The problem is copper is pretty boring and still gets crowded as fuck. You can get the 6 day steamboat option too which is kinda sick but it's such a far drive that you really have to commi to it or stay for a weekend. That being said they get killer snow and have the best tree skiing anywhere.

On the other side of things you have vail resorts and the 5 mountain pass. I'd go for the epic local unless you plan on skiing vail a lot. It's definitely a better deal and it now has heavenly and northstar too just in case you go to tahoe. Keystone sucks other than it's park and mostly the same can be said for Breckinridge. However vail has some killer backcountry and beaver creek too even. The beav is probably the most underrated area. When everywhere else is packed it's pretty much empty. Lots of good terrain and leftover snow for weeks if you know where to look. Unfortunately their park sucks so if that's wha you're into no dice there. But I'd say the clincher is a-basin. Super long season (they still have an 80 inch base) lots of fun terrain and a great vibe. And you really can't beat the beach parties. Nothing like doing keg stands in a ski area parking lot.

Well there that's probably more info than you need. Congrats if you read all that.

I have heard that is true, suprisingly since it is a fairly tough engineering school to get into. The nice thing about mines is that if you go there, your smart and boulder is an hour away so you can go party!

I have had the 5 mountain and the copper/wp pass and the 5 mountain is way better in my opinion.
