Skiing in Australia

Yeah so i live in Tasmania, Australia. our ski season last year was 3 days, nuff said. I wanna get a week or two off school during our season and really want to know the best park/just really good skiing spots and resorts are. Cheaper is better but still good quality. Thank you!

In Australia the easiest mountain to go to without a car is Mt Buller, as there are buses directly from Melbourne Airport (Takes 3-4 hours, and is the closest mountain to a major airport) up to Mt Buller and on the mountain every thing is located within walking distance or there is a free shuttle bus around the mountain. There is a YHA, youth hostel up there which I believe has cheaper accommodation but i'm not sure.

Or else, I think the NSW resorts have a small airport near them and you can get a helicopter to falls but I don't know much about that.

What hjb said. Get over to NZ, the snow is slightly better and there aren't 9999999999999999999999 people trying to get down the same run.

Buller is the most easily accessible and the nightlife shits on everywhere else. Hotham has slightly better snow but its so far from anything important that its hardly worthit. For a week yeah but not for a weekend.
As much as I love Buller, some of the guys above are right. Wanaka in NZ is a great place. Cardrona, Snowpark NZ and Treble Cone are all easily accessible from there. Remarkables and Coronet Peak are a little further away but easily accessible too. And skiing in NZ is sooo cheap.

better off going to NZ but if you really want to come OZ go mt hotham! quite a big area to ski on, not that crowded and the snow is usally consistent, only down side is it is a long drive

do not waste your money skiing in Australia. Mt buller is in the top 3 most expensive resorts in the world, and it has almost no terrain and no park. Australian skiing is a money raut. Go to NZ,you wont be dissapointed

thredbo's got more terrain than other australian mountains, nearly twice as much vertical as the others. and the park is pretty mad :)

NZ is cheap tho. like, cheap.

Falls Creek!!! Best parks in Australia, smoothest jumps, mad crew! Don't be hating on Australian skiing, those who do just don't know what's up!
