Skiing in Australia sucks who thinks so!!!!????

wow dont complain bitch, just choose the right time to go, or even better, fly to NZ. At least we get some snow, theres plenty of places in the world that get none. you've got the luxury of driving for 3 hours and finding some snow, theres still us aussies who have to drive for 10 hours, so stop your whinging
 
yeah i no what you mean dude, but i mean like the park its not that good. We need to get somebody from overseas to do are parks because we have someone who can not build the jumps properly

I went to Threadbo a summer ago, it was so shralpin sick.

It absolutely amazing or anything, it was in fact a lot like skiing in Southern California on an "off year" but it was still sick as fuck.

Stop complaining Aussies. Just be glad that you have a place to ski, 90% of the countries in this world dont...
 
yeah but i mean the park is not that good like driving is really good because its not far and like what if you do something in the summer and you cant go overseas thats the shit bit like i want to get sponsered buy some other people so i need to go overseas were they have bettter parks
 
^Or you can get on a ferry, go to NZ, take a taxi or something and start hitting shit at Snowpark NZ.

it nz good or what i dont no what its like i have herd jp is good an vail and some others but not nz are there parks good and snow!!!!!!!!???
 
the park at falls creek and the one at perisher are aight... it was cool when the guys from mammoth came down the help desgin the one at falls, its better than nothing
 
i used to live very far from snow back in AUS, but now i live in NY and this year... sucked bad so i couldn't just gone to AUS and got more snow
 
When I went down to Sydney, we took a boat to NZ and we were there in a day or 2 or something..

didnt take too long..

plus it wasnt too expensive...
 
For all those dissin oz and playing up NZ, don't forget that last season was shittier in NZ than oz. But I doubt that I will be skiing oz this year unless i move to melb or sydney. at $91+/day to ski in oz, it just isn't worth it. Especially when it's only NZ$70 odd/day in nz to ski and snowpark is only NZ$60 and is by far the best park facility in the southern hemisphere. At the end of the day, there's a reason why all the pros head to snowpark and why european ski racing teams head to NZ and not oz. NZ's mountains have the vert, the horizontal, the ski towns, the snow. Oz is simply too low, mountains are too low and too thin, and the low lying plains surrounding the mountains create difficulties with the ability to place large villages above the snow line in aus resorts.

but anyways, stop your bitching skierdova. for f..ks sake, if you dont like the park in buller do something about it. talk to the kids who are running it and make suggestions, or better yet get in there and give them a hand when theyre doing some work. and another thing, skiing isnt just about riding the park, sure we do that when we have shit snow, but on those rare days that we get beautiful snow and skys, do yourself a favour and stop being a lazy shit. hike that summit and ski those chutes, coz if you get there before anyone else they really are worth it.

why even bother comparing australian and nz skiing. theyre completely different and the seasons vary from each other every year. just be happy with what we've got and stop being a spoilt little shit.

I have a feeling that there may be direct flights from coolangatta to NZ, otherwise i know that there's direct flight from brisbane.

not really, its just NZ'er are used to much better snow and aussies arnt.

FLight from Oz to NZ is about 3 hrs no idea on cost. i think there around $600(at a big guess)

sorry but I have to disagree with the above comment. There are 26 ski areas/club fields throughout NZ. 2 are in the North Island and the reaminder in the south island.

The majority being club fields which are some of the sickest skiing you will ever come across anywhere(when snow is on) and i mean anywhere. Alaskan backdrops(Craigeburn), big lines no grooming, fresh tracks days after a snow fall, great hiking, sick full stop. Treble Cone has some wicked skiing to and especially for the more experienced skiers. I could go on and on but i wont so maybe you should look up some info before you start talking shit.

You can get flights from Melb/Syd/Bris to Christchurch for like $150 if you check out the specials on line.

If you want park - just come to SnowPark! You'll be satisfied!
 
well swimming is another option, but it's a pain with skis ...

Flight is like 3hrs. Boat would be overnight.
