I always laugh at the guys wearing the full snowmobile suit and helmet combo
Jerry here-- yea it makes sense when skiing/snowboarding in a place that you gotta rip a snowmobile fast for miles to get to your riding zone. at a resort? hell no.
On second thot I did it once on a -20* F day at JHMR cuz the whole resort was like frozen granular and we were racing our own tram down. You gotta ski 4k vert in below freezing temps in like 5 minutes to make it back in time to reboard your own tram. I def had an advantage with the full face haha

I remember Gus Kenworthy knocking himself out along with losing a couple of front teeth about a year back, going face first into a rail. Couldn't help but wonder why full face helmets aren't more common, mainly in the park. Yes they look completely daft and personally I'd never wear one, but it would have saved Gus a very expensive trip to the dentist...

They are too heavy for even big mountain skiing. If I were to rock a full face for big mountain it would be more of a MTB full face lid. Even when I'm on my sled I take a second lid or forgo the lid for the ski portion. I never set foot on my sled without a full DOT full face. I know what I'm capable of on a snow machine and know i'm a dumb ass with power.

Alpina full face is certified for bike and ski, so you could get a helmet to use year round. Seems hard to find them though. Anyone know of any other dual certified full face domes?

I just wonder cause I watched redbull joyride at Crankworx Whistler and all the slopestyle riders throw mad tricks with a full face helmet. You can spend $$$ for a carbon helmet to reduce weight but most of us can barely afford a set of planks for a season.
