Skiing in 10 years

i know there have been threads about this but i was watching ski porn yesterday and saw the 10 years with JP Auclair segment when there were 8 foot high pipes and no one was grabbing or had any style. where do u think our sport will be 10 years from now will we be mainstream or undergrount what tricks will people be throwing.

They will have robotic groomers, and a ski with an ipod built in, and all lifties will be replaced with robots, and there will be crazy computerized techno music in the park 24/7, and helmets wich will atomaticly adjust so gapers will not have gaps anymore, so we couldn't call them gapers.

I don't want to spark a global warming debate, but in all seriousness, global warming wont cause the world to lose all snow in the next ten years. If global warming is actually real, we will all probably be dead by the time it makes a huge difference.

i know a lot of people will laugh at that but in all reality, most of that could be a possibility in 10 years. ten years ago, people would have thought you were crazy if you tried to tell them that an ipod would have a 80gig capacity. think of all the crazy inventions to come to skiing in the next 10 years. oh ya, there will still be gapers...

-indoor ski resorts will be inmense, featuring steeps, pow, trees, cliffs and all that backcountry stuff along with parks and normal runs

-parks will be way bigger

-jumps will be always perfectly cut with smooth landings that don't get lipped out

-rails will be electronic so they move as you slide them or change directions etc.

-new materials for jumps/rails/etc. wil be created and used

-no need for headphones, music will be surgically implanted into your head

Global warming only makes more snow. 5 degress isnt that big of a difference in the rockies or europe but it creates gigantic storms. There have been a shitload of major storms that dump shitloads of snow. btw, a week ago, the east coast had the lowest temps in 30 years.

skiing will turn out to be just like snowbording with all the little kids who think there cool cause they can ski even tho they suck

Some new thing will come out, like how snowboards came out, and will become popular, end then they will get all the innovations

yea all the global warming people were saying that this years winter was proving the global warming then the north east got one of the bigest storms they have ever recorded

think of all the shit thats been put in the air in the last bajillion years. cars and factorys have been around 100. and the technology to see whether or not the earth is gonna catch fire has been around even less. considering the age of the earth i think the researched time period is just too tiny

haha ya, and denver is approaching the record for length of time snow has been on the ground. it has been cold as shit for 2 and a half months. and we got 3 huge ass blizzards already.

oh and in the future there will be no lifts. we will teleport

yea there will be one huge teleporter at the top and bottom of the park so you can do endless park runs all day! so dope!

10 years from now:

-there will be hundreds of snow machines pumping snow everynight, so that everyday there will be 3 feet of powder.

-There will be new types of jumps being hit, like a triple step up, to a 60 ft step down.

-Someone will land a switch 2520 (7 spins)

-Ipods will be wireless and will connect you your skies, that ahve speakers on them... (lol my longboard already has speakers on them)

-There will be ski areas that are designated to park. So every single run has jumps and jibs built into the natural landscape.

-Many more indoor skiing areas, that are a lot bigger.

Basically in 10 years pros will ahve to be throwing down some seriously sick shit

10 years isnt that long, but i bet by then everyone will be skiing without poles in the park atleast. there will be some crazy technology for skis so they can have crazy pop and be able to press better than snowboards now.

alot of mountains will have park stuff all around it, so there is like one main park, and all around the mountain there are rails and jibs and jumps all over the place. and mabye in 10 years they will have snow machines that make a shitload of powder and they will make bc kicker parks that keep getting fresh snow on the landing.

oh thats a sick idea...i dont know why they dont do that already. Just have a continuous supply of fresh pow pointed at the landings of all the giant kickers. Cause i know all the landings near me are solid ice. But i also live in NJ.

130mm will be considered a skinny ski.

my reasoning:

i was a young one 10 years ago, but from what i remember back then everybody was on 205's and shaped skis were unheard of let alone even 75mm underfoot which is now almost skinny.

Maybee we'll finnally get a mounting plate for bindings so you don't have to pay for a pair for every pair of skis. There'll be 20 dollar pairs of plastic twintips kids can buy at costco. Rockered park skis will be abundant, as will be no poles. US open big air will be a switch 1800 fest with the people doing switch 10s getting praised for not giving in to the spin to win style. Switch 10's off 50 foot cliffs into pow. Lots of deaths. 180 on Chads gap. Acctually big lines in the mountains getting skiied switch the whole way

The "robotic lifties" are happening already in Euroland. Chips you pay a deposit on when you get your lift ticket are you pass, and a computer scans you for it when you walk through. They can program how long the chip is good for, so its useless again if it's a one day pass, so stealing it is worthless. You give it back to them for your deposit back, and they reprogram it for the next customer.

global warming is a natural part of mother earth and it's been happening since the last ice age...wow...what a concept, but of course we are not helping. it's not just the US but look at Tokyo...that place is huge, but they aren't doing really anything to help global warming. we will still have snow in ten years...have you seen colorado and the rest of the rockies? when have they ever looked so good?

in ten years i believe that we will wear seal skin one-pieces and full-body goggles. there won't be any lifts because we will be able to telaport to the top like in star trek. there will still be gapers but they will be stuck in 2007 styles.

no one season proves or disproves global warming. No ten seasons do either. Just cuz it snows out, or is cold, doesn't mean anything. It's average temps of like, a degree or two, over many years. But, if the avg temp of the earth went down like 2 degrees, we'd all be dead and buried in like ten thousand feet of ice. I mean, global warming in our lifetimes might be the best thing to ever happen to skiing.. but its not sustainable. People are just saying that a few generations down the line are going to be completely screwed. But I mean who really cares about them anyway.
