I just sold my PS2 and bought a 360. I remember playing a skiing game for ps2 that was pretty fun... is there anything comparable for 360?

If not, what snowboarding game should i buy?

I've been playing skate, it's probably the sweetest thing ever, but really makes me wish there was a skiing game.

I haven't... my neighbor and i were debating whether it's going to be good last night... I've also heard mixed reviews.

yeah, ssx on tour is the only thing i can think of. I think there should be a petition to get a good ski game, that plays like skate, to be made. Any takers?

This has already been done, and it really did nothing. I signed it a while back so I doubt another one would do anything.

I'm going to get Stoked, it's coming out only for XBOX 360, It may not have the physics of SW but it looks like gameplay should be dope, google it.

ya i don't think theres any ski games but Amped 2 is a way sweet game (amped 3 sucks) really cool controls and stuff. if your gonna get it though make sure you DONT get amped 2 and topspin together in the same game cus it does not work on the Xbox 360

get EA SKATE its the game that will give u the fix u need if ur lookin for a ski game, even though its skating u can relate... and it was so well done

SSX on tour is not compatible to 360

Amped 2 and 3 are the worst games ever

but....

On september 16, shaun white snowboarding comes out, it has controls like skate it looks amazing check it out.

there's a snowboarding game called 'Stoked' coming out on xbox 360, looks ok, there are some videos on youtube.

alright. i hope they do come up with something soon though, not that i even have a gaming system, but i think i would buy one if it had a good ski game. I mean the companies need to realize that a good ski game would be just as, if not more popular than any snowboard game out there.

i was playing on tour last night and got bored of doing quad flips with 1800's so i put on the fugitive's and usually maxed out at double flip's... when i was playing the game when it came out i was thinking "even double flips off shit isn't realistic"... now, fuck, it's like normal in the pro world. since when did skiing turn so video game?

Ohh i agree 100% but skiing just doesn't have that same exposure that snowboarding does, an we need to get our industry there before we can get the exposure to open the markets in things such as video games and what not.

Try starting a spin then starting it the other way. Slow 180s into powder. And you can do slow rodeos and stuff if you try.
Enlighter is making a ski game.

dude this is exactly what i'm thinkin

i mean i really don't see why it hasn't caught on,

i mean i game but i'm not gonna go make a game anytime soon...

anyone see any progress on that one game that someone made, where you use the mouse to basically do everything spinning/flipping wise? pm me please!!!

That would be sick if they made a tycoon type one where you could build your own park with tabletops and rails and stuff

That is by far one of the sickest ideas I've ever heard of. And of course you'd be able to ride the park/backcountry area that you build. That would be sooo dope.
And I think Enlighter was working on that in his ski game...

Amped 2 is really one of the best snowboarding games out there still. haven't played shaun white yet, but it looks good too.

Amped 2 was way fun.

But the new Shaun White game looks its leaning more towards the Tony Hawk grinding on telephone wires type of thing instead of the realism that skate had. If only developers realized that if it was more realistic it would sell more.

you gotta play it and see how far you can progress through the game without taking any of your damn skis off your feet. I'm just straight up ignoring that it's even an option at this point.

Agreed. The challenge isn't points, it's how stylish you can make your skier do realistic stuff. Doing stuff realistically is a challenge. Try doing lip pretzels from flat ground on the fujatives. It might take a couple minutes. A couple minutes well wasted. Try to never slide a rail one footed in a whole run, including switch ups and spins on.
There is plenty of fun to be had in SSX still. It would be nice to have a really realistic one though...

i like doing nose butters and tail butters into the jumps. come in regular do a nose butter 180 right at the take off with a 720 grab, or you know, the other way with the tail butter... this evening i was playing and had a big urge to do hand drags.

one thing that would be awesome for a ski game (or snowboard game) is having controls for all axis. to do that though i think they'd have to make a new controller. 'cause with up, down, left, right you can do upright spins, flips, misty's, rodeos, but not looped tricks or corked tricks.

now i know it may seem like a skiing game could be as, if not more popular than a snowboarding game, but that for sure is not the case. we are on a skiing website, and even on the mountain, how many newschool skiers do you see compared to the rest of the people on the mountain. Video game companies make games based off what will sell, this site is a huge collection of newschool skiers in the world, and theres what, a total of 100 000(dont know the actual numbers, someone correct me and provide the actual numbers) people who use this site? compare that to the population of north america for starters, and then the rest of the world, we are a very very small minority. Now iam not trying to be a huge downer, but lets face it, skiing is still "lame" or "gay", i mean look at the gaper quotes threads, the threads about being the only ones in our schools who actually ski like we do, the threads about people questioning the way we dress, hell even the shop tech fucked up threads where the SKI (emphasis on the fact that they ski on the same mountains we do) techs still do not understand why we mount our skis like we do, or how wide they are etc. people still do not recognize newschool skiing as the sport it is (not to say that it is not growing). One day we will have a skiing game with the physics of skate, but for now, a mainstream video game is just not in the cards.

isn't someone from NS working on a ski game of their own and has a blog for it ? i remember looking at it last year but lost track of it .

Sometime between last year and this year twin tip ski sales surpassed all other ski sales.
twin tips skiers now outrank all other skiers on the hill.

i wouldnt look at actual sales, look how many of us have multiple ski quivers, and also, just because someone has twins doesnt mean theyre a newschool skier, rental places have twin tips. again, not saying that newschool skiing isnt growing, but to a large majority, skiing is not cool, and those are the people who are the target audience.

i think you're underestimating skiing's coolness. i mean, these people that apparently think 'snowboarding is cool, skiing is lame', don't really participate in either to the point of obsession (like most of the people on this site and "living the life").
Why do they think that way if they don't actually have a personal opinion on the matter? The mass's are easily persuaded into thinking a certain way, I mean, has any mass produced 'pop' music in the past 10 years been any good? And yet, that shit's always on top of the charts...
My point is: it doesn't matter how many people ski to decide how "cool" the sport is, you just need some high up people in society to get on the train and the people will think it's cool, 'cause it's what they see.

yeah, if we had someone who could put their face on a game to make it recognized it would sell much better, but thats the problem, skiing isnt big enough yet. look at snowboarding, almost anyone who knows what snowboarding is, knows who shaun white is, or tony hawk for skateboarding. i mean yes we do have a few predominant faces of our sport, but they are not at the point where they are so widely known that people recognize that face and be persuaded to buy the video-game. game developers are looking for games that will sell millions, and skiing is just not at that point yet. you can tell me im wrong and that skiing is big enough, and there is a face that is big enough to be recognized by the general public, but then where is the video-game for it?

good man, the only game that can even touch amped 2 interms of motion physics is skate. And that's what it is all about
