Skiing game for major game consoles

ok so besides SSX on tour and tricky and whatnot when are they gonna make a decent skiing game? they have had all kinds for snowboarding including Amp'd and now Sean White snowboarding, but never freeskiing. If they ever do come out with a freeskiing game what would it even look like? and what would they name it???
 
this has been discussed too many timesthe freeski industry isn't big enough for a game to sell, nobody would make money off it, you think we're big but the freeskiing world is absolutely tiny so it would lose tons of cashif you want to donate money to a company to make a good game for console, go ahead, but don't expect to make it back, only a small amount of people will buy it
 
yea ok i definitely can see your point, i was just curious whether or not they have even considered it. and why is it that snowboarding was able to take off so much faster and become so much more popular in a short amount of time. In your opinion is it possible to catch up to the level snowboarding is at in the near future? or is it just not possible at this point.
 
yea it does look pretty sick actually, and i think hes already made his money off of this anyway..but idunno if id spend money on that anyway
 
i dont really know why snowboarding has taken over but every year i see more and more freeskiers so i think we'll make a comeback but maybe never hit the level snowboarding is at. snowboarding is appealing because it's like so many other board sports which run with the whole bro/skater/gangster mentality, skiing is related to fruitbooting and water skiing so people view it like johnny tsunami where skiers all have english accents and are bitchy (extreme example), but you kinda have to be directly exposed to the freeski world to understand its awesomeness. but that's just a very vague opinion, i'd have to think about it a lot harder, i don't really knowi'd be curious to hear what some older people would have to say, ones who have been around for the take off of snowboarding and the beginning of freeskiing
 
I kinda like how small freeskiing is. I like to be one of only like 15 people at the mountain who can throw down crazy shit on skis. As for the game it would be dope to have a skiing game but i dont think its possible because of how many people freeski
 
Well. Look at the people who make games. None of them probably ski. They just think of snowboarding when it comes to tricks on snow. I think the X-Games is really going to boost freeskiing a lot within the next few years. That and gapers will start seeing more skiers throwing down. Skiing is gonna grow. I do have to agree that I like having the sport small though. Because it's the people who think they're cool because they go up and snowboard 5 times a year and see the skiers throwing it down steezier. It will get into peoples heads and in a few years there will be more realistic games.
 
ive always wanted a good skiing game. itd be so dope, but itll probly never happen and if it does it wont be for a while since freeskiing isnt as popular as snowboarding...for the moment ;)
 
i think the problem is that non snowboarders wont buy a skiing game. im pretty sure theres lots of people who have the snowboarding games that either dont snowboard at all or go less than 5 times a year. they just think its cool. these people think only of snowboarding when it comes to tricks on snow
 
theres a sick new game called search bar. lol but yea there needs to be a sick skiing video game
 
idk... if teh snowboarding game is called "White" and teh athelete is Shaun White. i would assume the skiing game would be called "Vail" and teh athelete be Scott Vail.

idk.. just spitballin ideas.
 
It all has to do with the view of the average video game playing person. To most people in this age group, skiing=gay and snowboarding=cool. They just don't understand what the ski and snowboard worlds are really like, so they will buy the snowboarding game but not the skiing one.
 
a ski game with a clever design and a fun vibe could make money......when tony hawk came out skating was not any were as big as it is know. can you imagine how ill that would be doiing top to bottom steep bc lines switch, there are an infinate amount of grabs and tweaks that could be done, nore than snowboarding,no pole vs. pole shit,,,,a gangster mode were you cna shoot mufuckas for they skiis . a ski game could be epic! evryone i know who plays ssx on tour picks teh skieer, evryone! b optomistic.
 
i think ap open world, lifestyle/skiing game

you need to ski around your local mtn. doing challenges to get noticed by sponsors and enter contests and shit

then more stuff opens up like BC lines, mammoth, blah blah blah

if you run out of money you need to sell youeself for skis
