Skiing equivalent of Thrasher's 'My War'

Been hyping myself up for summer skateboarding and watching heaps of Thrasher's 'My War' which shows gnarly skaters battling their biggest spots and the stories behind them. Has there ever been a skiing equivalent done for things like monstrous urban spots or other major gnar?

Only thing I can really think of off the top of my head is LJs 'Real Attempt' but that has less of a story behind each individual shot. Would love to see Level 1 or someone else do this.

I was thinking the same thing. This would be so sick. Could also do "skiiers in cars" or something like "Do a Lip Blind 2!" like Kostons do a kickflip

Freeskier did this with K2 Vs Nordica

Yea and the second one was fucking great. I wonder why they stopped making them?

agreed, level 1 and other production companies could benefit and receive a lot of hype if they pursued this. Thrasher has a lot of other great examples like the rough cuts they put out for parts. The rough cuts often get more views than the actual parts. Wish level 1 put some more time into making ski videos more personal, telling more of a story behind a shot.

First thing I did when I got home from studying was grab my board and rip around the street. Hyped me up so much to just go out and skate (harder with skiing to just up and go I know) but I feel like it makes these seemingly ‘effortless’ tricks more real and made me wanna go push myself way more.

Joslin’s rough cut from Album was mental. You see what they go through for every shot that looks easy. Love it.

Thrasher are sick at this.

Thrasher isn’t the only company with creative skate content. There are a lot of dope concepts that skiing can take from the skateboarding industry. Here are a few I can think of...

We know slvsh games are reminiscent of skate games like Battle at the Berrics and I think that place has done a lot for how skateboarders receive their daily content. Years ago, Sean Malto, Mike Mo Capaldi, Nyjah, and more did this thing where they would read trick suggestions people were sending in, in real time off an iPhone, and seeing that level of interaction was unreal. I wish someone would give the riders at Klappen, for example, an iPhone that we could all hit up for suggestions. Imagine Mango thinking your idea about a tranny was a good one, and watching him lace it up. All live. If anyone remembers the name of the series, please chime in!

Transworld had this “skate and create” contest where each sponsor and their team would construct their own unique feature and then just shred it. They were all together on one lot, like universal studios, and everyone was throwing down. Imagine the Faction team building something Candide thought of in his head, and then just ripping it for a week. But Armada, Line, etc. would also be at the same mountain doing the same thing with Harlaut and Wallisch creations. The smaller companies also get a chance to show off their team on the same stage. Tell me that wouldn’t be unreal!

Yeah dude!! That idea of each team building a feature is sick. Imagine having Faction rip they’re own shit for a couple days, Armada and Line theirs then you switch around and see wht the others teams do on some other teams shit.

Live ‘instabanger’ sounds so legit as well man.

Does anyone remember the series PIG? Was just like a game of SKATE or SLVSH but they’d do it it with like a team of riders from a different extreme

sport each time... channel I used to watch religiously had it on all the time. Saw some mental bmx/motorbike/ski/board (snow and skate) stunts on that...

Think that’d when I fell in love with extreme sports of any kind. That and any showing of any Dew Tour or X Games I could get my hands on.
