Holy Shit man, I'm an East Coast kid a'ight. And I've been skiing crappy Rossignols for two years, with all pretty old clothes. Freckin, now that I'm a decent skier, I want decent skis. And hell while I'm at it, why not buy myself some new snowpants while I'm at it cause I'm not a fucking ski bum like you, I have a job to get these things. Shut up about shit you don't know.

Yea here in Chicago I see alot of poser with brand new stuff and too much bitchy attitude. And no I'm not a hipocrite for example I got my goggles on sale for 5 bucks at a clearence sale (Sportmart), my snowpants cost 10 bucks from a garage sale, my poles are from the thrift store which cost 2 dollars and my coat was a hand me down. On top of that I spend three yrs saving up to get some twins while supporting my skiing habit ie buying lift tickets. My parents only dish out money for education...

Main point behind this is that I see many arrogant kids with money that brag about their brand new equipment and 05 clothing yet can't even straight air a 30 footer. Then when they see what I'm wearing they stare and start talking about it on the lift. They eventually shut up when I try 540's and eventually land it after 3 or 4 tries...

oh yeah. skied at sugarloaf, among others, which is nice. but again, this is exactly what im talking about. its not the east coast i have shit with. its the image driven kids, and while they do exist at other resorts, even in the west (breckenridge is a great example) but most of them are on the east coast.

fuck you yeti i lapthe park because i am bored with the east...i ski powder days which equates to about 7-8 a season. otyher then that i am not challenged by the easts terrain...the park is where i get intimidated and can push myself to be scared...maybe when i go out west ill feel that way at the top of a bowl but until then im gonna buy new park skis because i trash them every two years..I NEED NEW SKIS EVERY TWO YEARS..and i work and pay for all my shit...just cause some people are posers doesnt warrent you to get pissed...YOU ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH SKIING..SKIING HAS NEVER MADE ME ANGRY UNTILL I LEARNED THAT YOU SKI AND IM ASSOCIATED WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

yetigonecrazy has some very descent points that i agree with i'm looked down upon cuz i wear a north face jacket and have 1080's its so freakin gay + i suck at park but they can't ski outside the park and as for the east coast they ski what they can and they get damn good at it to i give them props for skiing every day and going big and skiing for fun i have seen like 30 kids in the park who only ski cuz its the "cool" thing to do and they have nicer gear then every one and can't do any tricks or ski outside the park and they're like tanner has it then it i will have it and i will be like god and those are the kids who kill me 90% of this site aren't like that its less then that

man poser is a term thats thrown around way too much, anyone whose skiing and havin a great time, wether theyr ridin all new shit, old shit, they suck, they can throw a switch 7, or if theyr just out there too look cool, if theyr havin a good time let em have a fuckin good time man. everyone is way too competitive, skiings sposed to just be fun, you shouldnt have to have all new and nice gear and be throwin the sickest tricks to be considered a "real" skier

^ word....jacket has alot to do with it actually. temperature wise. if your sweating your balls off then you get angry and cant ski. if your freezing cold thenyour body doesnt work well and your all scrunched up trying to stay warm. or your fingers are so cold that you have to ball them up while tucking straight to the bottom of the hill. but anyway a cool jacket wont make you better. a jacket thats comfortable for your climate will help like 5%. if your at a competition and freezing to death you obviously wont do as good as if you were normal.

I live in the east and i ski in north carolina.I have been skiing for like 9 yrs and never went into a park because the best area in nc doesnt allow skiers in their park.i ski in utah once every couple of years and i love big mtn.after all u ski is boilerplate in nc on slopes that are about 38 degrees(yes there are blacks in nc) and get good at it,u can ride the gnarliest terrain in th west and kill it. and i cant ride in the woods because there is usually snow on the ground in nc but not enough to ski on. if i had the choice on what i was skiing every run would be powder and cliff drops and steeps,but all i get is a very small choice of short ,icy slopes. im just glad some are steep. so dont bash the kids in the east who are making the best of what they have and what they have is nice parks. if we had the choiuce to ski pow and big mtn and pow we would,but that is not really an option for most of us

if we had more people like ATLANTASKI the world would be a better place.

^^^ buddy i hope u know most people say its harder to ski east than it is west because even though are shit isnt all super steep with 5 feet of powder we have a shit load of ice. Just cuz ur a sick skier out west doesnt mean the same in the east but if u can ski steeps in the east u can do it out west. This ha been proven and i got it from SKIING magazine.

 
No. Nothing in the east compares to some of the stuff out west. That's bullshit. Go buy a copy of Squallywood and look at some of the lines rated 8 and above and then go kill yourself. I doubt that anything in the east is harder to ski than Eagle's Nest or the Fingers.

your right, i cant ski the gnarliest terrain in the west, sorry that was gay. but i was trying to say after skiing on ice on pretty steep crapped up runs in the east it is veruy easy to ski steep slopes in the west that are covered with perfect powder.

if we had more people like ATLANTASKI the world would be a better place.

 
i wasnt saying all the east is harder than all the west u just cant compare them because their totally diffrent. in the east there is sooooo much more ice.. and out west u barely get any. and last time i checked skiing ice is harder than skiing on nice fluffy snow
