Skiing dogs

Basically, Rook is a sick powder hound. Not only does she love to bound through the snow, but rolling in it and rolling down a slope is possibly her most favorite thing in the world.

How many of you also have snow loving dogs who get to go out with you?

My dog Maddie loves the snow/shredding. So much fun to ski with her, she is always right on my tails.

i loled. i wish i could bring my dog with me. she'd be so fucking stoked. she kind of looks a bit like that dog^

haha to save funds im gonna rock those center mounted early next season. not a bad ski at all! ha

Last year in france i went shredding a friends back yard and he had this little pug that loved deep powder, because he was so small he could only dig tunnels/run through the powder, under the surface, sometimes when the powder was shallow you could see mole-like tunnels appear, as you see in cartoons, 't was such an awesome dog :D

mine are still too young, they will be a year in 3 days, but they where out with me in the backyard all winter long.

Wish I had a video of the sister, we got about 2ft, all you could see was snow flying up as she ran under it, like a mole on crack (and in snow not dirt).

Will def try to get some shots of em this winter.

Just found this, shot from a backyard session in the spring. Just Molsen in this one, Stella was getting her jibblys cut out.

I gotta find the photo, but I've got a pitbull that loves to pull, so we hooked her up. She's a pretty good tow-in. Looks like somebody in Refresh thought of the same thing.

hasd anyone heard of skijoring? you use cross country skis and a harness for the dog(s) and then hold onto the leash and the dog pulls you, a little like dog sledding, but on skis.

German Shorthairs rock! Mine's too ADD and neurotic to go anywhere that there's a chance of other dogs, people, or distractions. But he loves the snow, a lot! Snowball fights are fun with him, because he tries to catch the snowballs. Adds another level of complexity to the game. Which I just lost. Damn!

My mom actually runs her own skijoring business in Colorado!

People are really into taking their dogs skiing with them now, esp. cross country skiing. She's made a wicked good business out of it. She also used to be a PSIA examiner for nordic skiing so also gives ski lessions... often it's the people who need more help learning how to ski and interact with their dogs than the dog needs training.

i have to german wired hairs and the younger one has a short coat and she is extremely neurotic. a few examples just from trying to put in my summer set up. i had to clear a dead trees and shit out of the way. anyting i touched she would drag into the yard and chew into little pieces. i walked back to my house and there was a huge pile of chewed up sticks. she also finds rotting trees and rips them apart and flings the rotting inside wood everywhere. she also find alive trees and chews them in half. i also had to break some branches off some trees and she has to help out so all the trees around my set up have their lower branches bitten off as high as she can jump. she will end up thinking something is in a tree and spend 30 minutes running up it as high as she can. she thinks she is helping out with everything.

The Berniece Mountain Dogs are fuckin insane, I saw one this past weekend RUN STRAIGHT down the 4th of July Bowl in Breck completely balanced and the bowl is like about a 40-45degree slope or whatever u would consider a standard double. It was unbelievable.

ah shit some fuckin concepts, how intense. i had some cow concepts waaay back

anyway, my girlfriend has been fiendish for a dog forever, especially one that is more mountainesque, so I've been venturing on the side of a big ass great pyrenees or something cool like that, and if that happens, it better like the snow.

FUCK this shit makes me want to quit skiing out of fucking embarrassment! I swear this styles getting played out by farrr can we agree on that

Cow print concepts were so damn Ill. I had those too (still do in fact, although I dont know if they are even mounted).
