Hey ns, i was thinking about making a ski club at my school where we meet every other week and talk about skiing, share our edits, watch ski movies, and maybe even have a rail jam or something. Good idea?

there another thread i have seen about 1 month ago that talks about that, you should read it because it talk about everything you can do with a club at your school and thing like that =)

k sweet ideas. ive got probably 10-15 kids in my high school who may be interested even tho its pretty small. the film department for our school just got a 60" hdtv and the film teacher said it'd be fine to watch movies and shit on that for the club

I'm the VP of the Ski Club at my school, it's so much fun man, make sure to have free stuff and plenty of contests to keep the group lively.

word, ive got a shit load of stickers, so we could hook people up with them in the club, maybe level 1 tee shirts or stuff like that for contests we hold.

my ski club is trying to get a movie premiere at our school and we get special school discounts at sunday river. its 25 dollars a day for skiing for 4 days each winter. it was awesome.

Perfect, we had a pumpkin carving contest last meeting, winner carved out a gaper ahaha.
Another cool thing that were doing is that our school's anoucments are a video thing so were going to have like monthly edits for that!

i tried making one back in highschool and they said we could make one but we couldnt meet as a group at the mtn, watch ski videos with swear words in it, or watch any videos with us in it. (Liability)

Genuine douche bag principals

as far as i know, im the only freeskier in my school. and the only people who know what ns is is a select few friends, people who ask about my shirts, and my gf. forever alone :'(

O dude i know there is like mmmm 50 kids out of the like 4,000 i either get a ton of shit or a ton of questions about my shirts or tall t's it sucks

good idea as wish my school's had a ski club when I was younger.

Are you in High School? Middle School? Does your school have other clubs?

My school has a great club goin on. We go up to our local mountain and there's two categories, freestyle and racing and under each category there is a subcategory, beginner, intermediate, and expert. It's a great time. And at the end of the season we have a "championship" race/jail jam, and winner get a pair of skis! it's a pretty sick set up for sure. to bad the rails are shit.

i get alot of "oo nice dress" and "were you high when you bought that shirt" when i wear tall ts... oh and the worst is whenever i wear a level 1 shirt i get atleast 10+ people a day saying "well im level 2" or "sorry only level 3 people aloud here"...

word, i feel for all of you with no freeskiers in your school. i know how it feels :/. anyways thanks for the new ideas and our school wont give a shit what we do i made a vid for film class with a super explicit song and no one cared. and im in high school and there are a bunch of other clubs so we'll be fine.
We'll have access to a 60" HDTV if i havent already mentioned it hah

you could make it unrelated to the school but use it as a meeting place. you have no chance of receiving funding from the school though.

yea id definitely do it man... you could even have mayb a fundraiser so u could put some a pvc box or a few rails on the school property (movable) so when u guys stay after for the club you guys could hit those up when you have snow

There is one at my school. It's pretty cool but there are a lot of people in it who just joined to join and have no idea how to ski and go up 1 or 2 times a year.

my school just made one and the girl who made it has hook ups with pros and were sponsored by EVO, get free gear from companys and ski with pros once there is snow at our mountain. she said she could probbally get tanner hall to ski with us sometime this year. also we can hathbanger to perform for us if we want.

yah i did this at my school with a couple of my friends everyone had a good time and it was really fun

K guys, its gettin there, just sent an email to the skiers at my school.
If you want to read it...
Dear Freeskiers of the High School, From my understanding, if you are receiving this message, you have a strong interest in the sport of freeskiing. I currently am seriously considering making an official skiing club. This club is currently in the works, and we are going to do somewhat a trial run of the club with a select group of individuals. In this club we would watch ski movies, share our edits and photos, talk about skiing, and possibly create events, like a rail jam or a day off to ski. Also, we may set up a rail somewhere on campus for an after school jib session or something. Currently, the club has a sponsor, Mr. Cano, who is giving us access to his large HD tv for movie screening. I was planning on hosting a handfull of preliminary meetings and movie showings until early December, and if it seems to be going well, I will probably make it official, to allow for possibly school funding (probably not) for ski tickets for a ski club retreat, or a day off of school. The reason I am not sending this message to the whole school is to keep the club GAPER-FREE. Its fine if you're a beginner and support the sport a lot, but I think that we can all agree that we don't necessarily want people who have skied once and just want to skip a day of school to join the club. If we do make announcements during assem If you have any friends that weren't sent this email and are freeskiers, let me know and I'll get this message out to them. I plan on the first meeting being this wednesday, if that works for everybody. We will be watching the movie Contrast and sharing some of our ideas about the club. The week after this, our next meeting will most likely be solely discussing the club and its future. Please reply to this email if you're at all interested. As I said earlier, this club is still in the works, so things could change, and also I would love to hear any suggestions from any of you guys. Thanks.

^haha keeping it GAPER-FREE. Good choice except the school might not like that idea, you'll probably have to let everyone in if the club is made official. But where I used to live had a ski club, a teacher had worked out a waiver and permission slips so we could go to the mountain. Probably if you get all the liability shit off the schools back, they'll have no problem letting you guys go to the mountain after school or on weekends as a school group. Also, talk to your local mountain, ours used to give us a small discount which was pretty sick.
