Skiing bumps and getting cheers from the lift

it truley is....at my mountain we have like a cliff that can be at 15 feet for the biggest drop tops but if you jump it and people on the lift see you they go nuts...

I tried shredding bumps without poles yesterday....that's a whole new experience. Fun yet extremely challenging and if you get good at it you are a baller.

^^hahahahahaha

Yeah I'm kinda used to the no poles hate, my dad was really pissed off when he saw me without poles yesterday and ended our weekend trip early because of his shitty mood (due to my lack of poles).

i alaways butter 1 off of cat tracks then just mob it switch this one day i had to snake through this crowd then do my one, and i hear WOW DUDE THAT WAS CRAZY as i look back its an old grandma saying it.

it made me feel all warm inside

I love jumping off big cliffs under populated chairs. When your standing on the lip everyones like 'OMG! Don't do it" "your gunna die" and others are like "HUCK IT." But after you do it everyone is like holy shit and they clap from the lift and its sick. 360s unders lifts also make people go nuts even if they are really small.

and when I was little (like 5ish) I'd be really small skiing these crazy lift lines better than most regular aged people and I got ridiculous cheers the whole way down. Best feeling ever.

One time I was jumping these cliffs while my mom was relaxing in the lodge up top and this lady was telling my mom how she saw this kid in a brown jacket and red skiing off this cliff and my mom was like, o yea, thats my son

I always try to cheer people that do sick tricks when I'm on the lift (always next to park) so I know they may feel better. It's good to land a nice trick for yourself, and it's even better to have someone recognize it personally and cheer you for it.

That's why I'm never ashamed to cheer people, even when my friends tell me to shut up, I still do it, hoping that someday, if I ever land something really great and be really proud of myself, someone else will also be, cheering me from the lift.

........is when someone goes out of their way at the end of the day to find you and tell you how amazing you ride. Now that's a great feeling.

damn. that's awesome. I'd be so freakin stoked if someone did that to me. I'd play it off as no big deal of course but inside I'd be hopping.

yeah, right after christmas they got 17 inches or something and sublette was closed for avy control and wind i think, so the line at thunder was rediculously long. This dude ripped down that line with the cliffs and everyone was screaming at him to huck it, so he stomped a huge air from one of the larger sections it was awesome. best skiing i've done there that week, so much fresh.

its amazing how the smallest thing can make or break you day.

one of the best days this yoear was when a snowboarder came out of his way to tell me he thought i was a great skier and could ride with his crew (all snowboarders) anytime.

cool when alot of the boarders at my mt hate skiers.

also when you here some one in front of you in the lift line talking about you.

"yeah i saw this kid in white skiing fucking backwards no joke"

Hahaha ya thats sick one day me and my friends went into the woods and there was a lip coming out of them so i did a 3, and this dad and his little kid started going crazy like it was the most amazing thing they have ever seen. It made me feel so good haha

I love charging switch under the lift and looking up to see people like 50 feet up turned right around watching you.

yesterday i was hitting the big kicker at my local hill...and i wasnt doing anything huge, just 1's 3's and 5's, but i did this nose 1, the best one ive ever done and brought it all the way down the landing and some little kid was like "holy shit youre good!"

one of my favorite moments skiing ever

I dont tell people but I love it when there is a cool jump or something under a chair. At my hill our park sucks so we just find hits scattered across the hill. The gapers go mad for just 1s and 3s

yeah but the worst feeling is when either they cheer for a trick you didnt do or for a trick you accidentally did.

also it pisses me off when i do stalls on spines and noobs yell "you suck! theres no way youll get air with that much speed!" because they think im trying to jump off it not stall.

I love doing 1's off little rollers or out of the woods or whatever and just continuing on switch. plus then you look back and everyone is like wooah wtf?

i'm bumping this, because i just read it and it made really happy

this thread = NS at its best. good, friendly/fun claims and everyone is really stoked.

the best is when you dont even do somthing that awesome like a totally hucked 7 and everyone on the lift thinks its the coolest shit they've ever seen

oh god yeah getting cheers on moguls is great!! same with above parks or bombing groomers.

one of the best moments of my ski season was after i jumped this ledge thing at mount snow and just dud a boring grab and later on my coach saw these 2 old guys in a bar and they asked who the crazy blonde girl was and said she was amazing. me wooooo!

there is this double stager cliff under one of the lifts at vail and i took too much speed off of it and at shit but still got cheers from the lift, it was sick

people cheered me on from the lift as i slid some log thing that was on the side of the trail
