Skiing around WSU?

I am thinking about transfering to WSU next year from University of Portland, is schweitzer the closest ski area and is there anybody on here that goes up there regularly(aka every weekend) from Wazzu durring the winter?
 
if your lookin for park, hit stevens or snoqualmie. I ride stevens about 35 times a year and its dank! your allso gonna be by the legondary mt. baker which is hella dank!

Pullman BLOWS. unless your here for school and school alone. nothing here but rolling fields of nothing, and skiing is 3 fucking hours away in any direction. take my word for it, i've lived here for 5 years (the last 2 only in the off season)and the only good thing about pullman that i can see, is the amazingly hot westside girls that are on every fucking corner of campus.

if you want to go to school in WA and want to ski too, go to WWU or UW. or any of the many CCs on the westside. definitely NOT WSU.
 
i would agree with every word of this. sam knows more than i do about skiing around here thats for sure. i mean sure its a fun school and if you want to ski you can, but if skiing is a huge thing for you, you probably wont like the drive to the mountains. i get a free pass to silver, which is a decent mountain, not great and its just a bit over 2 hours away. they have decent terrain but an absolutely horrible park, so if you are a park skier i wouldnt reccomend silver in the least. i havent been to schweitzer tho because none of my friends have passes there, so i cant really comment on that, but i would ask sam about that.

so bottom line if you like wsu go ahead and come here, just know that skiing might not be the greatest or the closest, but if you want to mainly ski i would choose somewhere else.
 
yeah pullman's sick as fuck but not for skiing. THere is a ski club but no chill places anywhere near here. THere's a reason WSU's motto is "win or lose we booze", there is nothing around for hundreds of miles except hills. However there is some of the sickest urban spots i have ever seen that are on campus. seriously it's like rail heaven.
 
agreed. some siiiick urban stuff up there. got my eye on a couple spots for next year.

schweitzer is pretty good all around. ive only been a couple times, and i havent ridden their park, but i hear its the best in north idaho.

when ski around pullman, i head south into the middle of idaho. sure its 4 hours one way, but i usually make it a weekend thing. plus theres usually better snow, and way better parks. (compared to silver, lookout/all the shitty little hills in eastern WA, not including schweiz.)

but its a toss up. super fine bitches and 3 hours from shitty skiing at WSU. or semi super fine bitches and an hour from chronic skiing at either UW or WWU.

 
Try for UW, better city, better summers wakeboarding on the lake and same distance to ski areas (pretty much)...
 
yeah, i would say my favorite combo on campus is next to beasley and that church where the lawn comes down the hill toward the b lot and beasley. it has that sick c rail that is like 30 feet long, then like a 2 foot gap to a down rail into the street. also, the 18 stair down from the honors dorm toward sloan. but yeah there are so many to count its crazy.

but yeah i will definately second the comment about the super fine babes. its absolutely insane here, i moved in and my dad was just like oh my god, do they even allow ugly girls here, and i just laughed. but yeah, its a fun school for sure, just not great for skiing.
 
eh, i wouldn't say WSU has any hotter girls than UW, and Western has its share too, and no only is western an hour from the powder mecca of baker, it's also an hour from vancouver, and like 3 from whistler. also, the BC chronic coming down over the boarder is tops.
 
true, each school has hot girls and whatnot, but WSU has more hot girls per square mile than the westside schools. imho

 
haha yeah, there are more hot chicks on one street than i have seen total in about 5 trips to wwu. i mean maybe im not looking in the right places but it seems like all the western chicks are pretty butch and have harrier legs than i do. thats not to say there arent tho, i mean im sure there are some its just not as dense a population.
 
Im from central washington i live in wenatchee. I have got into WSU and MSU and i dont know where to go fuck. I paid for both to hold my spots. Are there many people who Ski at WSU? i love the campus and its only like 3 hours from my house. MSU has way better skiing but nothing else to do really. and the girls kinda are not hot.

O ya mission Ridge is like 3 1/2 hours from pullman. Stevens like 4 1/2
 
yeah, surprisingly there are a fair amount of people who ski here. maybe its because i notice it more since im on the ski team here, but yeah there are a fair amount that do for sure.
 
How does the ski team get to the mountain for training and stuff? is there any chance they would let a non-ski teamer tag along to the mountain? you guys train at silver or schwietzer?
 
we train at silver, but the urec is pretty anal about travel stuff and we go in university vans, so they would never let that fly unfortunately. its so stupid we have to get everything allowed by them, its insane sometimes.
 
The zoo, best place to party, not the best place to ski, but it does seems to attract alot of hot women despite the terrible weather in the winter, and the inhospitable terrain
