I was sitting back today watching Happy Dayz, and realizing I will never be as good as the pros. I mean I am 19 years old, this is basically my first year freesking ( in Connecticut that is, haha, ya I know what your thinkng (Sucks)) anyways, I go to school not really near a major mountain so its hard for me to get to the mountain, even though I go to my local mountain probably once a week. My boys, arent really big into skiing and snowboarding, so its tough for me to find people to ride with. Anyways, skiing along with girls is all I think about now adays... you know it gets bad when I was sitting in church today, (ash weds) looking at a pew (bench) or however you spell it, and thinking how I could jib it. Now, I know I will never be a pro, and I know I will probably never be able to throw 900s, but I love this sport more then anything. Anyways, the older I get, and the area I live in it seems harder for me to find people my age to ride with. I don't mind riding with younger kids, if they can tear it up, are cool, and can show me a thing or to, then right on. The older I get the harder I fall, the more things I break. Just the other day I fell off a rail, seperated my ribs, bruised my knee, and chipped a tooth. What the hell!?!?!?!?! If I was 13 I would of gotten right back up and shaked it off. I guess what I am trying to say is that the older I get the more I love the sport, and the harder it is for me to get up, get the balls while hurt and try it again. I graduate college in 2 years, and I am thinking about either moving up to Burlington VT, or maybe out west towards Mammoth. Even though I will never be anything special in this sport, do you think this is a pipe dream? I want to work for this skiing industry, because its something I love. Its tough for me to get my foot in the door without knowing the right people. I major in Communications and technologies, so hopefully I can land something with that. All I gotta say to this long ass post, is that all of you kids, guys, girls, ripping it up, 8 years old, or even old as old as skiers like Seth Morrison, you guys rock, and I envy you... all I gotta say is, WHOS COMING WITH ME? WHO WANTS TO MAKE THE MOVE in the fuure? Haha, I sound like Jim Brewer, anyways.. what do you guys think?
