Skiing AND snowboarding?

so this is a ski site, but i do know that some of you guys snowboard.

my question is, how many of you guys snowboard AND ski. like you switch between the two during the season?

i used to snowboard, but i sold my board so i could buy skis, and im thinking of buying another board, and just doing both...

i do both. its pretty fun. i ski mostly but i just started. its fun to snowboard and just do the steeziest shit you can

i used to snowboard i relized i sucked and switched to skiing wich idk why but turned out waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better for me

you snowboard dev huh anyway i tried snowboarding totally sucked and kept catching a edge. Snowboarding seems like it would be really fun once you get the hang of it

i skied since i was 3, switched to boarding for 2 years somewhere around 14, and realized that i couldn't snowboard worth shit, and went back to skiing. now im 20 doin my thing.

i do both, its great because if you get really frustrated with either one day up the hill, you can just switch it up for next time. the only downside to doing both is in most cases you can never really be as good as if you were to focus all your time into one of the two. also its really fun being able to progress at two different sports during the same season, potentially being able to learn something new EVERY day feels amazing.

.i do both, its fun to switch every once in a while, and snowboard boots make me almost want to quit skiing, cause of the level of comfort. hell, most of the time that i board its cause i have such bad shinbang i dont want to ski.

I'm a skier for life, but you definitely need to give snowboarding a shot. i think its super fun to go mess around on.

i got into it because at my local hill here, the park just sucks, and then the hill is basically flat, really skiing there just sucks, so i learned to snowboard. good choice. I learned how to do 360s and stuff now, I think its a fun way to switch it up, and it helps me try different stuff with skiing. Buttering on a snowboard is way fun, and so is powder.

Also the first week will suck, take a pillow in your butt, and use wrist guards... nohomo

SN: try snowboarding

main thing is a helmet IMO cause catchin an edge a being thrown to the ground aint fun, whiplash is a mad b**ch.

I enjoy both. I've been a skier for a lot longer but really enjoy a board, especially in nice pow. Can get a really nice flow going with the turns and it's such a nice feeling..

i've been snowboarding for 10+ years and skiing for 3 years and can do both pretty well. Its great to be able to switch things up when you get bored of one. I usually find myself skiing when its crappy out (park days) and snowboarding when theres fresh snow. Skiing is much easier for park and snowboarding is just way more fun to cruise around and hit powder with

ive been boarding for 5 years now

tried skiing this season and liked it. buying a whole setup in the off season and gonna learn skiing full on next season.

should be fun

same here, usually snowboard when there is a lack of snow, or just when i get tired of skiing and want to try something else and experiment.

when i was small i started with alpine skiing and wanted also do snowboarding just for a change of pace.. they wen't hand in hand and i liked that i can change whenever i want coz i can do them both. then i got a knee injury so i had to be away from slopes for 2y. i came back and did mostly snowboarding, then i found twintips and now i cant live without them. skis are just perfect for me and snowboarding is a good change every now and then.. i'm really happy i can do them both

yeah, both. i do prefer the snowboard overall, though.
i'd say that a nicely done powder turn on a board is a very beautiful thing to watch.

snowboarding is so chill, it feels more like surfing

while on skis i feel like i have complete controll at anytime and thts imho even better....

yeah word.
ive had friends who boarded for the longest time then wanted to do both and they just ended up skiing all the time. Id figure that happens with a lot of people.

I ski 35-4o days a year, and snowboard about 2, so I try to concentrate on skiing. If snowboarding weren't a winter sport, I'd be all over it. As it is though, I only board at small mountains where I might be bored skiing. And since I surf and longboard, I love the feeling. Not really any freestyle, but just carving is an amazing feeling. And when you consider how many times longer a run is than the longest wave or paved hill, its a great experience.

Style question - my roomate's a boarder and we recently had a long argument about whether snowboard presses look better than ski ones. I fought hard for two-plank honor, but to be honest, he got me thinking. I mean, you can be facing 4 directions and really lean out on the nose/tail in a way that doesn't seem as fluid on skis. Not to be blaspheming, butters and ski presses are still great and I won't be converting antime soon, but purely style, which looks better? Which sport has better presses?

.

google technine, then rethink your question

but snowboarding hurts.

everytime i fall it feels like a break my wrist. scared me shirtless, cause i like my wrists.

no fun for me.

haha, just watched the stack footy teaser, i was laughing the whole time.

and boneless onto a rail .. whut !!?!

i dont pay much attention to boarding pros and vids, i just know fodt from when i boarded only. like id watch one love everynight before id go ride the next day. haha

i do both, but i snowboard more than i ski. once you learn a trick on a snowboard, it's really easy to bring it to the skis.

My brother used to snowboard(he's mr. jibster here) for about 3 years, starting with snowboarding mostly because he thought you could only race on skis. When he got exposed to the freeskiing scene, he instanly switched. While he's still able to board, he only does so about 2% of the time.

one of my friends does both, he just took up skiing this last season, but he still boards a lot as well. i'd like to learn how to board, so that i can do both, but at this point i kinda feel like it's too late for me to take up boarding.

I snowboarded for 6 years until I tried skiing this season. I'm a snowboard instructor and hoping to get my level 1 or 2 for ski instructing next year also.

Whether someone doesn't ski or doesn't snowboard for whatever reason is totally fine, I just think it's a good thing to at least respect both.

ive thought about it....but then i think about bombing groomers switch and realize why would i waste of day of skiing?
