Don't get me wrong, Its so great skiing with your friends but there is something about skiing my local mountain by myself with my mp3 player on that just makes me ski better. Any of you guys ski alone?

lots of people cant concentrate on becoming a better skier (mostly park) with their friends, but i think its easier cause u can pump each other up, and get motivated....yup

skiing alone is pretty peaceful it helps you block lots of shit out of your head. i think it helps a lot when you are alone working on shit its just better that way

 
that is definitley true. and skiing with friends really motivates you... like u want to show off how good u are even if ur not... so u gotta learn

I ski alone when i am trying to get a new trick locked down. I ski with friends to show off and jsut hang out. I love sking with my MP3 anytime alone or not it so sick when that right song comes on and you get amped as hell and jsut go all out. What kind of MP3 player do you use when you ski?

 
i usually ski alone cuz the guys who 'rip' up here are fags. its fun though cuz if your on twin tips guys just start talking to ya!! i love it!

but i think when you ski with ppl you improve your skill more

Skiing alone is awesome, and so is skiing with friends, but you get this freedom when you ski alone that you dont with your friends, plus the music changes everything

I have an iPod so as far as music goes i'm set. I also live in upstate NY with a small mountain about 3 minutes from my house so i ski alone for maybe 2-4 hours at most.

I ski alone all the time, but tis because none of my friends ski except one who goes to a different resort. I like it but you progress more riding with other people.

 
Skiing by yourself is alot of fun. Its cool because you get a chance to meet new people who are sometimes better than you, and they push you to become better. But it is fun to ski with your friends too.

trails yes..but skiing with park savvy people is good for park...cuz for me its alot easier to go a lil bigger with someone u know watching

yea skiing alone is pretty sick if u got the tunes.. I got a mini-disc and its sooo awsome.. but yea i do like skiing with friends too.. i find that its easier to learn something new by yourself but iduno thats just me

 
my gore trip got cancelled tomorow....but the face would be nice once the parks fully up...i can actually do shit now on my PE's but gore is retarded and ran their rails over with a groomer

Skiing alone is awesome if you need to learn someting in the park or somewhere. You can just hike that jump all day until you got it down.

 
I ski alone most of the time cause none of my friends ski more than once or twice a year. I love skiing alone...you get to do what you want at the pace you want. Nothing wrong with it, I prefer skiing alone most of the time, unless I want to ski with a chick or ski some crazy backcountry or dangerous stuff where you should always have a partner.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
 
Ya even if your not doing park and skiing alone it lets you think about stuff, and when I went out west I never really see mountains and scenery like that and sometime I'd just sit down or even going up the lift just think and clear my head, but when im in the park I like seeing people that are better then me cause it makes me wanna try even harder!

skiing by yourself is king shit. I dunno its really just the way to do it if you've got most of your shit down. You can just go into the park and lay down a sweet smooth run and its relaxing and fun at the same time. It's good to have friends around to tell you what your doing wrong sometimes too but most of the time alone skiing is the best. At least thats the way it is for me in the park. I like skiing around the mountain with friends thats way more fun than in the park. Park time is relaxed time to me. Mountain skiing is fun time.

I love West Mountain (my local hill) at night around 8. especially if its not too cold and they have some snow making jumps. We have no terrain park but they do blow up some pretty big mounds of snow to build shit off of and usually you can find a landing near by. Last night their was a nice little slopestyle thing they had going with like 4 different kinds of take offs and jibs. It was rad skiing with my mp3 player going and just styling through. it's nice to hear your friends critisism but its even nicer when you hear nothing but your tunes and your skis making perfect turns.

Generally I ski with my friends, but once in awhile its really nice to get out alone. Granted, the lift sucks, but sometimes you meet fun people to talk to that way, or even a hot chick ;) I don't ski with my MP3, I like the quiet, helps me block shit out of my head from the rest of the world and concentrate on skiing. Also if some asshole tries to snake your line you can hear him coming, heh.

i would much rather ski with friends than ski alone. i progress much faster when my friends are around, but i wouldnt be half the skier i am today if i only hit the hill when my friends wanted too. i probably ski like 90 days a year and about 20 of those days are with friends.

i ski alone with out a mp3 all my friends are slow and i just like to go as fast as i can down te hill and then hit the big air jump or other jumps my hill has up

I like to ski alone sometimes, depends on the day. Also, if the people I go up with are shit, or they want to ride the park on a powder day, then its bye bye to them. I dont have an mp3 player yet, just the discman. Doesnt like jumps too much.

 
In response to whoever it was that asked about falling with your mp3 player, I keep it in my inside right coat pocket and i haven't landed on it yet but it's an iPod so it's pretty much indestructable

Yea I love skiing alone. especialy big mountain. It is chill for me to go up to snowbird and just take laps on the tram. It helps me clear my mind and allows me to go to a sort of spiritual place. I can get my head clear and just kill it. However I don't like to have music when I am doing this cause I like the whole becoming one with nature and being able to hear the snow that i am skiing on helps. plus when you can hear the snow it helps your actual skiing

I usually ski alone because none of my friends ski nearly as much as I do. I also like talking to random people on chairlifts.
