how many of you ski alone on a regular basis? 50-75% of my time on the mountain is by myself because all my friends either cant afford it or are working etc. i dont really like it, i like to ski with people to push me but that hardly ever happens....on a side note, if your ever skiing mount snow and need someone to ride with drop me a line.

I ski with my family...my brother mostly. I live three hours from decent mountians (NH, VT) so it's a haul and I know no locals. My friends ski, but arent good so I dont like to ski with them much. So I'm willing to ski with anyone anytime

I ski alone alot. Same kind of deal, dont like alot of the skiers too. But when your skiing alone, make sure to be careful, a rider in whistler recently died in a treewell, you can easily get stuck in bad situations.

I never really ski alone because I always rely on people for rides or am on a trip with people. I like learning some new stuff by myself though.

I usually ski alone at least once a week. I'll take off on a tuesday or wednesday and ski for a few hours by myself.

I like to take my headphones with me usually and ski cruisers. I dont usually do anything gnarly when Im alone. I'll just hit rollers and some flat bars...

 
skiing alone is nice for working on stuff like new tricks

and dont worry bout the lift up

just find a nice lil group of 3 girls on the quad lift ;-)

I never ski alone, the only time I did that, I fell through the snow into a tree-well/creek bed, and it took me about an hour to dig myself out. If I hadn't have caught my edge on a bump the second before, I would have suffocated. Plus, it's more fun to ski with people who push you, and who can scope lines for you.

i ride alone pretty often, i dont really like it except when im hiking the pipe. Basically what you have to do is just go up to a group that seems chill and introduce yourself and ask if you can ride with them. It seems odd, but people are pretty chill and it works out

I prefer to ski alone, it's easierto learn newtrick coz you can concentrateon it. On the lift it can be real cool like when you're with a cute girl and finishthe day riding with her...so fun

 
I ski with snowboarders 70% of the time and alone for the rest. Anyone skiing primarily at Sunday River this year?

 
depends, probably 50/50... i like skiing with a couple friends... makes things more enjoyable. and i think you can progress just as quickly if youre all at close skill levels.

i know like everyone at my hill, most of the skiers dislike me but i stil spend most of sort of alone but its kinda hard to discribe because people ussally sit there and watch who ever is hitting stuff up, so they sort of talk to me and then other riders dicide to hike with me and i talk to them but i ussaly am alone. Unless im not really throwinng down, and just ridding around the hill then i ussaly ride with snowboarders because thats just boring without friends to chill with up the chair

I ski alone most of the time, but I get better with my friends cause they push me. I get more scared and back out of things too much by myself. But I usually don't like going with more than two people at once.

Girls don't like sensitive guys. Since I don't treat women like objects, I have to treat objects like women.

 
i usually always ski with one other person which is good cause your never waiting for anyone.... sometimes when he heads in early or something i just hike a rail or somethin like that, its ok

the few times I've ever skiing alone it was when my friend was sick and spent a lot of the time in the lodge or when I got lost from my friend for like an hour. I just put on my mp3 player and relax. Its kinda cool sometimes.

I love skiing alone, its deffinatly a good time for self relflection. I also end up meeting alot more people when I go alone.

i ski with a whole crew of people, like 10 people but all at different times like 2 or 3.

i ski alone half the time..... just me and the mountain. it's fun, gives you time to think and improve you technique. then again, riding with a crew is fun too, pushing your limits.... i just like skiing.

problem with skiing alone is that if you do something really sick there is no one there to see it. unless you get some asian tourists on a chair lift that start screeming and claping and shit.

I wish i had a crew, but i dont. I ski mostly alone because the only time i can ski park is weekday afternoons. I learn so much more when i ski with better people who push me.

I ski alone about half of the time but its so much worse than going with friends. I feel more pussyish cause i dont go big anymore cause if i do land it, no one will see it, and if i dont then no one will help me with my broken leg or what not. It is better though just to cruise the mountain.

A thought the term tree well was pretty self-explanitory. It's the big hole that's around trees cause because snow doesn't fall there too much.

i skied in jackson last year and a lot of the breaks i got at the ski shop didn't leave me with tons of opportunities to ski with good and or cool people. so i got my social fix by ripping under the chairlift. seriously try it. then when you get on the chair with people who've seen you skiing, they talk to you and you make friends. but if you suck its a different story.
