today i drove 2 hours there and 2 hours back by myself and skied all day pretty much by myself. i talked to a few kids. it was still fun, and i got to work alot on some rail skilz. last weekend i drove 4 hours each way by myself, but i met up with kids to ride with once i was there. i dont really have a problem doing shit alone. i just listen to music and smoke tree.
going alone is fun in its own way man. i find out i get so much better by myself than with friends most of the time. i just went up to copper alone, but normally theres a couple peepl u know. i think 50/50 alone/crew is about right.
Skiing alone is a lot of fun. You can go at your own pace and go where ever you want to go. Bring music, but keep it low enough that you can talk with people on the lift, because skiing alone is a great way to meet new people. Also, if Sunday is anywhere near where you live, you'll probably see someone you know.
I'd say that 85% of my skiing is with other people, but the other 15% keeps me sane, and I would give just about anything to go shred pow in the trees by myself on my Hellbents with mellow music right now.
I usually ski alone in the spring when all my friends are just giving up on the sport and playin lacrose or something. It's ok they are missing like the best time to go I guess they arn't as die hard as me.
i ski alone quite a bit, i find that if i go with people we dont get any skiing done and i feel like ive completely wasted the day, yknow its like go skiing and then go chill with ur friends after
for backcountry skiing its probably not a good idea to go alone but at the same time it can be so relaxing and really just give you time to get rid of the stress of the day to day and just ski, just bring a cell phone with gps incase anything happens and you need help
ya I went skiing today, with a slightly annoying kid today and I had to convince to try stuff in the park, I want to try going alone next time, sounds fun, and I can focus on myself more.
i love skiing alone. you dont need to worry about anything. no worrying about who wants to do what run, who wants to go to the lodge, none of that. just put some headphones in listen to some good tunes and ski
i I actually ski a lot better by myself...I find thats when i progress the most. I don't know why i just am more willing to try things when i am by myself. I can just think about skiing and pushing myself
80% of my skiing is solo these days. My old group that I skied with have all gone our seperate ways and moved to different areas, and I haven't really gotten another group together really.
Trouble is, that I travel alone, so the costs are on the high side of things. And skiing alone is fun, but you don't get pushed to your limits quite as much.
Skiing alone is very nice and relaxing. I don't have any friends that ski on a daily basis like me which kinda sucks. They do ski, but for them, skiing is more of a social activity and when ever I go with them, it seems like I spend more time in the lodge then out on the mountain.
During the year, I ski alone probably 60% of the time.
skiing alone is just as fun as skiing with people. i skied alone everyday untill last year now i ride with people everyday. I still like skiing alone sometimes tho, its relaxing but i find i progress more with a bunch of people.
I feel like I don't progress as much by myself because I don't have other people there doing crazy shit and pumping me up to try crazy shit, but it's still a lot of fun, which is why you're there. Definitely bring some tunes though, otherwise it can get a little lonely.
toooo many cleeeeeekkkss , just ski with skiers were all there with the same passion, chat with NS'ers who cares if yo dont know them we are all there to do the same thing and enjoy it.
I ski alone a lot just because my friends arent into going multiple days a week cuz theyre lazy. Get the ipod and a playlist and shred it all day. Its better during the week when the mountain is fairly empty. Your in your own world like that, its kinda relaxing.
yea sometimes on chill days when im not feeling park, i like to ski alone, or meet new people to ski with. I met one of my girlfriends when i was skiing alone, and that was awesome. Just take some nice headphones, good music, and your solid.
fuck yeah! just get a little stoned and go skiing. bring your ipod and just rip it. I ue to go skiing by myself a lot but i started going with some buddies last year and they slowed me down and i didn't get to do half the shit i wanted to. but be careful. two years ago i went by myself and tried dropping a clif with a couple ledges in it and ended up falling right off the first jump. scariest/craziest shit ever. laned on my back about 30 feet under the original point with a ski stuck about 10 feet above my head.
dude i'll be at SR this weekend. i got yellow pants and last years anthems. say hi if you feel like it, because i personally think skiing alone is not as fun.
I like skiing alone, I can just ride without having to convince someone to hike this rail a few more times, or waiting for someone to go eat, or bathroom or whatever
ya, i love skiing alone. I like exploring and stuff out of bounds. you just gotta be really careful. bring a radio, a phone, maybe a pack w/ food or water.
Personally I love to ski alone. You are able to go where ever, whenever and you don't have to worry about what everyone else wants to do or go. Dont get me wrong I love skiing with my homies but it's nice sometimes to just go take some runs for yourself, by yourself. I would say go for it and if you haven't done it before you def should give it a try.
