If you want the ultimate protection, get small Pelican case, the 1020 micro, drill a hole for the headphones (doesn't work with the remote or with elbow headphone jacks). Not really impact proof though, since its a hard case and transmits any force, but its water and poijty object proof. This year I think I'll get a little Lowepro case or something. Plus the Pelican is sharp against the ribs.

the dell's a bit beefier, i feel that the dell is the more bombproof of the two. i sent it bouncing around my car for a few hours when i went rallying, and it's still fine. it started off in the change tray, and ended up in the footwell. of the backseat.
