i have on ongoin arugument with my neighbour, that over all, skiing looks so much better than snowboardin, like as in air style, tricks(crosses) and flips, it all looks so much better on skiis, snowbaording looks so much the same, yes snowboarding rail style is better, but other than that, sking has so much more

 
yea i think that snowboarding is starting to get really repeditive.... its just like cab 10, rodeo 5, cab 7, cab 9, rodeo whatever, blah blah, blah blah....

Just cause they do the same stuff doesn't mean it can't be stylish. In fact, if they are improving those tricks and adding variations too them, they are most likely becoming more stylish. Not that I like snowboarding more than skiing, its just the way it is.

because snowboarding is those smoothest shit ever, all their rotations and grabs are so solid and not sketchy at all, i do like rails on skis tho cause its hard to tell switch and stuff...but on snowboards their rotating in ever direction, bs switch bs shit like that....go watch some movies and trailers....skiings improving a lot tho, its comin up almost to the same level but snowboarding still above it

i dont agree that snowboarding is smother and shit. after watchin iton tv ad seeing it for myself, roaions look wierd, especially big ones, it looks like theyre grabbing air with their hands, it just doesnt look so good

some skiers can throw down like snowboarders though, like jon for example, his rotations are smooth, and look 10 times better than any snowboarders

i agree. there's a lot more variations in skiing that snowboarding for like inverts and grabs, but for rails, snowboarders have more options.

i dunno about anybody else but i would rather see a pro snowboarder on a rail then a skier, even though i like skiing more, there is just so much you can do on a snowboard and i think boardslides just look awesome.

Pro Am It's all about the East.
 
Its just cuz we are still catching up to them. In another 10 years, skiers will be just as smooth as boarders are.

I respect snowboarders and what they are doing, but skiing is getting way ahead of it now and thers so much style in there. And boarder rails look gay.

 
Now way, skiing has so much more style. I agree that snowbording looks always liek the same thing and evryone has the same style. Snowborders need to come up with new moves and grabs and shit cause right now their style is terribly ugly. Just look at rpo skiers and snowborders and compare them, skiing win 10 times over.

 
freeskin is on a rapid rise rite now, its developing its own culture as snowboarding hasin the past few years, and with that culture will come development, in style and attitude, skin will surpass snowboarding

 
true dat, i think in a way it alread has. Like with the originality of it all. But I don't know, maybe there was a phase in the early parts of snowboarding where everyone was coming up with new ideas and tricks, the way that skiing is today. But I definently like where our sport is right now and where it's going.

i think skiing has the potential to have more style. Skis are dope cause you can cross up and do different stuff with your skiis and more positions overall. Only a few guys actually are more stylee than snowboarders like pollard and olson. But in general, your average snowboarder has way more style than your average skier

 
arghhh..... snowboarders do have more style on rails, but not much more. but spinning and other tricks with grabs and stuff, they don't. if you watched the pipe in the olympics, their spins were shitty if the went for 1260's and stuff, un like c.r. and people like him, ... ... ... ...

Snowboarding hands down, how do you say that snowboarders look gay on rails, half cab nose press down handrails... that's fricken nuts, and taislides 270 outs down stair rails. Snowboarders can be more stylie in the BC still, skiers don't have switch landings down, so everything is either 3 or 7, and boarders can throw down huge gaps and cliffs w/ 5 variations really smooth. I don't really like how people are saying boarders all look the same, go look at happy dayz and look at everyone crossing their skis less and doing the same kind of safety style stuff, actually i think are tricks are becoming even more centralized than they were before, like snowboarding.

the style of GOOD sowboarder isnt bad... but dont u just love the style of your everyday follower snowboarder which plagues the mountains... skiing on landing areas, sitting over a little hill... heel scrape the living shit out of good area untill its a ridgy icy shit with roots? isnt it great?

which is worse? a strait gay little 360 is horrible to see, but which is worse? the typical little punk snwboarder(not nearly all are like this) acts like an ass and doesnt take the time to actually learn and progress in the sports..

ok... im gonna stop doing my part is this debate thingy... this style you speak of, there was no way that it ever influenced me. im more of a steep skier and prefer powder or groomed stuff like the park. i haven seen a ski movie or snowboard of any kind untill 2 months ago. lines were too longat the bases of places so i kept to the remote areas and did shit there. snowboard style, hateverit may be, has not affected the way i ski, that may be irrelevant, but i dont care

ahhhhh.... the halfpip was first made almost 20 years ago, when a snowboard looked lik a wierd surf board thing... and baggy clothes, is everywhere, in schools fo the most part. i doubt snowboarding influenced schools nation wide

because it didnt have any influence on me at all... if it did, then i would be like sure, ski style essentailly came from snowboarding, but it hasnt to me. ive been skiing for 13 years but i havent paid attention to the style of the snowboarders.

well, this wasnt about if your style was influenced by snowboarding or not...the world doesnt revolve around you my friend. skiing as a whole...........if you like the pollards style, tanners style...then, youve been influenced by snowboarding...they didnt just come up with the idea of legs spread and hands down all on their own. they saw SNOWBOARDERS doing it, and realized it was way smoother than what most skiers were doing...THE END
