Skiers wearing snowbard outerwear and other way around?

my snowboard friends were saying how they hate when skiers wear stuff like burton and when snowboarders wear skier stuff. do most people think this way? it seems kinda gay, like my fashion loving sister wouldnt even care, and these GUYS do.

I have a 686 jacket and I love it. I personally dont think it should be a big deal at all. Its going to be the same cold and snowy if your on skis or a snowboard.

I like supporting companies that support skiing, but I dont hate on other brands or anything. Its life enforcing segregation or something.

put it like this... do you think basketball players hate it when we wear there jerseys over our jackets....686 and burton is one thing, but i hate when skiers wear core companies such as tech9... just like i hate to see a snowboarder in a full siver cartel suit...

I could care less what company you wear, wear it if you like it. I don't care if a skiing company or snowboarding company makes it. If I like it I'll wear it

i want one soooo bad

i just saw it in the new ccs. the one with the removable faux fur hood and like the greenish pinstripe kidna thing o man, effin sick

why? We are essentially in the same climate doing similar sports. I dont understand how there can still be a feud between skiers and snowboarders.

definitely a matter of preference. i dont mind the snowboarding outerwear, were doing the same shit at the same mountains, unless your at alta or taos, but like hey, everythings aight

I dig 686, but in my opinion, I don't see them as only a snowboarding company. They make such good shit it should just be snowsports. sure, they advertise to snowboarding, but thats where the market is for a lot of the stuff they are making. They do sponsor that skier that wears the gayper though.

it doesn't make a big difference to me. I think Burton makes crappy stuff but other companies are pretty good.

when I look for outwear I check out the "skier" stuff first but it doesnt matter to me wearing snowboard stuff. Hating the snowboard brands is really stupid they make incredible outwear as much as skiing companies

it shouldnt matter what your using to get down the hill in relation to what clothes you wear.

i bought a pair of 686 pants last year and they are downright solid. when i find a pair of pants, ski or snowboard branded, that i think looks better and will perform better, i'll buy them

its sora gay that skiiers can wear snowboarding shit but if a snowboarder wore a skiing outwerwear they would get straight laughed at, maybe thats cause skiiers bite snowboardings style....

I'm rocking a DC volt jacket...it's awesome. I don't care what people wear. Although skiing pants are sometimes cut more for ski boots and board pants for boards and board boots, but other than that the differences are minimal. It's really dumb all this hate.

I have a full 686 fit its really good quality and I dont really give a shit what some dumbass snowboarder says about what im wearing ill I know is two boards are better then one.

i thought our war was over now and we're all mountain loving brothers. Anyway a couple years ago when i was snowboarding it angered me to see a skier wearing burton stuff and then i skied all last year in ronin pants so i really can't complain.

i have no problem when skiers wear snowboarding gear.

but snowboarders shoudnt wear skiing gear, it just looks bad on them

i really couldent care less where what you want

heres my ski clothes and all my snowboarder friends dont care

yeah you see alot of snowboarders still hating on skiing, its either gapers or the gangster ass one that think they are totally badass. i told my friends all the hate, especially fashion hate, is my reason for not wanting to ever snowboard. and one of them actually said he dosent like skiing cause too many of them are too happy. wow.

haha a while back in like 8th grade my whole table group always hated on me for skiing, his reason was because they go around and around the whole time. AHAHAH wtf does that mean? So i said you mean to carve? and hes like yeah. Alright so snowboarders dont carve? haha

the only thing that sucks about snowboard gear is sometimes the pants don't go over the boots very well. other than that i love my ronin pants

I wear what I like... regardless if the company supports skiers or not.

Funny thing though, the only person I've ever seen wear Orage (other than myself) was some random snowboarder last season who was rocking a York suit. Then again, living in Southern California, people are pretty oblivious to outerwear trends... and finding a freeskier is a very rare occurance.

wait, so the outerwear laws have changed? if i was having a crappy day skiing and randomly went and rented a snowboard, i no longer have to go change my pants and jacket too?

as long as you dont ride with burton. don't support burton because burton doesn't support us.

the companies you are buying the "snowboard outerwear" certainly dont mind doing business with you so why not?

i dont see why snowboarders would wanna wear generally more expensive and less baggy stuff so im not sure on the "other way around" part

i traded my "snowboarding" suit a couple years ago to a stoned guy for his orage one piece. I dont think either of us gave a rats ass and neither should you.

honestly who cares its all outerwear and sometimes snowboard wear is better than ski wear and vice versa who cares what you wear as long as its not a basketball jersey but thats just what i think

im rockin RONIN pants wit a NORTH FACE jacket this year and theyre gonna be sweet, i dont think it really matters...

The clothes cant tell if I have one plank on my feet or two so why should snowboarders care? Thats gayer than when skater kids call other kids posers for wearing stuff that says volcom and billabong on it.

I Dont think i have got a ski specific setup in like 4 or 5 seasons now, i have rocked burton and bonefire for so long just because its cheap and works good for me

If you buy snowboard clothing it is just another dime in there pocket to make more movies, mags, comps, and STILL make doper clothing than skiing companies. If you buy skiing you add money into skiing companies pockets to support mags, vids, comps, production of better/cooler stuff.

If you don't think one person matters, look how much money in this thread alone went to snowboard companies that will not expand your coverage, media, comps, SPONSORSHIPS...christ half you want to be sponsored and supporting snowboarding creates less and less oportunities.

SUPORT SKIING!
