today at my hill i saw this kid with a t-shirt jammed in his back pocket to look like one of those rag things that people wear in their back pockets. Then he stopped pretty close to me and he was fixing his t-shirt to make sure it looked good.

That's NOTHING. A few days ago I saw a kid decked out in all new Oakley pants and jacket with new dragon goggles and new PEs. He had big ass headphones on a rag hanging out of his backpocket. I thought 'Damn he must be good'. He could barely throw a 3 off a tiny knoll. wow. I wish I had money like that to just jump into a new sport and buy all the newest shit.

I don't get this. If the kid knows nothing about the sport and isn't really into it, yeah, he shouldn't have the nicest shit. But if he's into the sport and has a passion for it, he should whatever he wants regardless of if he's good or if he sucks.

I think that if they're not dedicated to the sport and they just go out and get the nicest gear, that's pretty pathetic. In that case, they're basically spoiled or have no concept of money since they don't know anything about the sport they're blowing all kinds of money on.

i own no fucken skiing clothes, alls i got is boots bindings and skis, and i bought my skis cuz i got them at 60% off and had a budget, i dont care about what i wear, it doesnt make you a better skier, theres a shit load of little fat kids who way better twin tips then me and clothing and shit, yet they do sweet fuck all when it comes to throwing shit, it makes me mad to see these littles bitches getting their parents to buy them the best stuff out there when the best thing they can do is turn, wtf is that shit, thats my rant about this subject and i sticking to it

even if i could afford it,id still buy the last years models cuz a) they dont really change that much and b) if you get the right place and go a the right time of year(end of the season), you can get them so much cheaper, thats the way i look at it

i understand your opinion, it jsut makes no sense at all, your clothing shouldnt have anythint to do with how much you ski or how didicated you are, its pretty much style if your not using is that much, and most people like the look of more expensive brands like oakley,

The people I'm talking about are the ones who ski maybe twice a year and have nice twins and nice clothes. It's a waste of money for a sport they don't do much. That's all I mean though. for example.....lets say i had 100obucks saved up solely for the purpose of buying some new skis and i had a pair picked out and everything was going good, then perhaps one of my friends who just got a brand new pair last year half way through the season got hurt and couldnt ski and he would offer them to me for a really really good price, well id buy them off of my friend cuz then i have like an extra 700bucks in my pocket and i could buy other things like a tv and shit, its all about economizing.....for me anyways

i get most of my stuff on sales/deals/last years models, i got both of my pants for at least 50% off the normal price, ones planet earth dave lee pants, the others burton ronin cargos, i paid less than 150$ for each pair, so it was pretty economical, i was just showing an example of how someone could have 'cool' clothes or whatever and they could still be cheap

and hey for the cheapest stuff, go tharsh style, just wear jeans and jean vest with your favourite punk band patches on it,

on another note, anyone see the transworld team challenge vid? capita showed up in suits, other people showed up in jeans and shit, othe rpeople showed up in painted snow suits, all looked super sick haha
