any skiers that play tennis? i noticed alot of skiers had tennis as one of the things they like to do and wanted to see if many really play..usta or waht not. i play a good amount(two times a week during ski season)...just playing doubles this year. looking for that state title..dont play usta anymore...my brothers are all nationaly ranked...oldest plays for UP...

I always wished I played tennis, not because tennis is cool, because it isn't. It just translates well to so many other sports and its pretty fun too

i kinda have to agree with you..compared to skiing its not cool...but i love it. its a great sport...and yeah people that play tennis are usually hella good at other sports too. it carries over unlike swimming haha..my neighbors are basically all hella good swimmers but they are not so good at other sports.

tennis is great for fitness and requires pretty good coordination. develops a strong back/shoulders too, which most people lack since these days everybody goes to the gym to get those tough looking muscles (chest/arms). if you think about it, the pulling muscles (back, lats, traps primarily) are much more valuable than the pushing muscles (chest, arms) since you don't often run into a situation in every day life where you need to push heavy shit around. however on the flip side, most tools used to facilitate the movement of heavy objects requires the user to pull the device around (dolly, wheelbarrow) and support the weight.

anyways.....

another great raquet sport is squash. insane work out - you're running suicides the whole friggin time - and i always have a lot of fun playing it. make sure you stretch out them legs before hand though, because i think the most soreness i've ever had the day after an intense physical workout was after a game of squash. i couldnt walk at all. the outsides of my thighs were on fire.

yeah people always ask me how i stay so strong without working out..i tell them tennis but they ush dont believe me

i've been playing tennis with my dad since i was in atleast the 5th grade. i love that shit. i'm not any good but sometimes we have decent rallys, and thats the best.

I do, but I haven't played in a year. Skiing is way better. I will play this summer though if anyone wants to play. Golf too.

yeah i used to play a shitload..but then stopped and got back into skiing...skiing beats any sport handsdown

A quality game. and quite fun if you can get a nice rally going. i play a lot in the summer.

hell ya man i play tennis. i used to be really competitive in it before the economy got shitty and my coached got fired. i used to play an average from 4 times a week and i would do tournaments on the weekend, and then take a break during the winter to ski, i used to be really good and for a few months i was #1 in oregon for my age group and now i dont have a coach anymore i just play occasionally. its a really fun sport to play and u can play for the rest of ur life

i play

i move around on the high school team, either number 1 or number 2 doubles, number 3 singles if the other 3 is missing

I play a little but not as much as I used to.

and gosh, I hope an orange name writes in this thread.

I worked at a tennis club for two years and can honestly say that I really don't want anything to do with the sport, some of the biggest assholes play tennis (there's also some nice people too but definitely a minority)

i play varsity tennis for my school....and i used to try to keep doing tournaments during ski season but it didnt really work out. tennis is fun though, keeps you in shape and good cross training for skiing with all the lateral movement. some tennis players annoy me....maybe its just the people in my town, but one of the reasons i like skiing more than tennis is the people that i ski with are so much more enjoyable and laid back and chill than any tennis players. I know its silly to make a generalization but its just from my experience.

yea my x girl was really good at tennis, we balled it up in team doubles at the country club on the weekend.

haha the old pervs always got distracted by her tennis outfits, haha classic.

ah good ol tennis, just finished coaching the littlies for the year.

its nice to see people who dont say tennis is for pussies and is the boringest sport in the world for once (ie my friends who play soccer and football)

but yeh brilliant sport, requiers everything: athletic ability, hand-eye, reflexes.

i just finished high school so i probably wont be playing as much, kinda disappointing.
