Skiers that piss me off

Over the weekend Killingon opened up their park, The Beach. Now im at killington every fuckin weekend and at my local mountain everyday. I ski on my black K2 enemies and beat up boots and bindings. I'm perfectly content with my gear. But these little fucking fags from New Jersey that have their parents buy them a pair of skis they saw in the X-Games or in Ski Magazine under the 'Extreme Skis' logo. It pisses me off that these kids come and sit in the park and snake you right before you're about to hit the hip or table. They always cut in front of you and end up fucking up the take off or landing because they speed check 1000000000 fuckin times...If this sounds like you please understand that when someone says,'Dropping' it means they are going to hit the jump so don't cut in front of them...It pisses locals off almost enough to kill you...

 
I agree...last year i did a 180 on to some kids head. He was sitting on the landing and i didn't see him until i was in the air. We both survived but i was so fucking pissed at him.

 
if you are calling your drop, it's one thing. but if you just go and expect no one to be in your way, then it's your fault just as much as yours. just because you are better than them doesn't mean you should have priority. you have to remember that everyone was a beginner at sometime, and i'm sure you have cut people off in your day too.

if you do call dropping loud and clear and someone still cuts in front of you, then you have permission to beat their ass. otherwise, stop complaining about beginners.

oh, and if someone fucks up the take-off of the jump because they don't know what their doing, politely tell them the first time that they should either do something different or hit a smaller jump first. if they do it again after that, you can beat their ass.

Coming from reasonably small hill and going to a 'mountain' a couple of times a year.. I have no idea how you can deal with little kids flying down through the park.. not taking their turns, etc.

The thing that pisses me off the most is when you go down to hit something and there's someone in front of you that doesn't look like they're going to hit it... then all of a sudden they decide to cut in and roll over the lip, right in front of you... i hate those fuckers

man he had the most coolest gear... veery expensive... smith googles... westbeach clothing...burtonskycap like me and a couple of madtrix skiis... when is aw him i was thinkin´ yeah what a pro... but later that day... when i was hitting a loooooooong japan air... he only jumped in the smallass wussy child jumps.. with the smallass wussy snowboarders...

even though i am laughing...

i hate those posers...

I don't get it. If someone can afford their nice gear right away, instead of having to work 2 jobs just to get their new stuff like the rest of us, why does that make them a poser? Let them learn, its more productive to help than to sit and whine about it when they mess up the take-off/landing. They'll stop doing it quicker if you help em out. Just my 2 cents.

 
I agree. I hate when familys come to our park and have there 2 year olds go off the 20 30 foot tables and they dont even make it upp the take off and there is a nice little jump to the side that they dont hit for some reason!!!!!

 
yea everyone was a learner at some time, and i think that sometimes experienced people dont remember when they were there, but there are places that are better for beginners than 30tf tables. just my observations.

Why is someone a poser if they have nice stuff? Most stuff is nice when its new. Maybe all their old stuff was unbelievably shitty and they had been saving for new stuff a long time.

There is nothing motherly about mother nature. Except for her big mountainous breasts.
 
that's the beach for u!! send that pic to killington would you? they realllly need to have a couple parks there cause it gets nuts. you can't expect to mix all abilities and have a safe park. and the beach is especially dangerous because it is so flat that you need to keep your speed for a while.

it's tough for someone to pull up and not hit a jump because some kid just got in the way... i'm at fault for this, i spun right over a kid at killington and shocked everyone watching. i just fucking popped hard off the lip to make sure i cleared the little helmeted kid.

also last year, right after that inncident, i told a mother to get her kids out of the park after she told them to not get any air and to just ride over the jumps. she got mad at me, said they had as much of a right to be there as me or something. but seriously, i was acting in the interest of safety.

ultimately, it is our responsibility to be safe and not jump over kids, but it is first the mountain's fault for putting us in those situations...

 
so what... if i buy pocket rockets, 1080 fizz boots, ti812 bindings, then that makes me a poser since i've been saving for like 3 years?? I think it's bad when all the lil joeys jump in front of u.

know what u mean. Thats why i always practice at night, because if the parents of those kids see the slightest thing they don't like, they are gonna let u hear about it, and they have no clue what they are talkn about. ignorant assholes

the worst is in thredbo, the instructors bring the cannonball kids through the park, they royaly fuck it up. Then the park guys go nuts and huge arguments start, it funny coz its all the people riding the park & the 3 guys who cut it going nuts at an instructor.

I think a poser is someone who boasts about their skiing when they.... suck.

But I hate it when people fuck up the lip though and when little groms come in an fuck up the jumps. But one time there was a kid in front of me going to a tabletop so I stopped to let him hit it first and realised how small he was. His dad was at the side of the jump waiting for him. The thing that ran through my mind was 'bye bye nice lip' until the kid spun a 360 and landed a bit in the backseat. His dad pulled him to the side and gave him a little pointer and then they watched me hit it and then took off. I like seeing parents coach there kids.

a poser is someone with the sweetest gear, and no skill to back it up. they have a huge attitude, are completely full of themselves. they spend most of their time NOT jumping, or in the lodge/standing next to their skis. they don't try to improve. they are there to look good, and impress people in a very superficial way.

I does make me mad when a parent brings their kid in the park like that, especially when there are signs at the top saying 'expert only' and stuff like that. The day a mom brings her 5 year old in the park and he can throw anything, anything at all as long as he or she isn't just making the park another groomed run for him to wedge down, I'll be amazed and shut up about it, but until then, I think its completely retarded. That pic is why people need to learn how to read the signs.

 
my park at wachusett is exactly like that.. you get the families coming in and the little ones riding up the jup not quite making the top and goin backwards down the take off and falling over.. and dont forget the learn to ski instructors withg all their group 'training' the whole park and stopping on top of each jump to 'take a look around' it pisses me off.. i have an idea.. why don they have a lane just for the jumps and gate off like 7 feet on each side so that way no one can snake you b/c we get lil kids and dumb snowboarders snaking everyone all the time.. just my thoughts..

The park here in Fernie is the same as everywhere else, crowded over with inexperianced skiers and boarders who just want to make themselves look cool by going there and going over the tabletops.. at no speed, fucking up the take-off. They should be restricted from the parks because they are a danger to themselves and us as well.

Hear and you forget, see and you remember, do and you understand...
 
why do you guys care if little kids go off your jump. They'll learn. Don't bitch them out, go up and tell them 'hey, could you please not go off this jump because you're not cool enough yet, you have to be at least 15 and post dumb shit on NS.com.' Don't clip thier ticket. If you have a problem with it, all you have to do is tell them.

As for people that are sitting on the landing, that's just gay if you do that but for fuck sake, check b/f you jump, maybe someone wiped out.

Back to kids--- I can't wait till that little 3 year old in the picture is kickin you're guys' asses in comps because he had the nuts to hit a nice little kicker that's taller than he is.

I definitely think kids should be restricted from terrain parks, and here's my reason. A few seasons ago I was in my local mt's park, ready to hit this table, and a 7 or 8 yr old snakes me. I hike back up, he hits the table, eats shit, and yardsales everywhere. So I'm standing up there waiting and his little friends wave me on and tell me it's ok. I hit the table, and in the air see that his skis are still lying in the landing. I land directly on them, double boot release, and tumble down the hill with 4 skis.

The result: One of the skis' edges cut into my finger so deeply it was almost completely severed, I cut the tendon, ligament, and got nerve damage and will never be able to move it all the way.

k first of all, yeah its really freakin annoying when little kids or unaware ppl cut you off in the park. Second im fucking tired of all these ppl ragging on ppl who have nice equipment but arent amazing, who the fuck cares, if you can afford nice shit why the hell would you buy shitty stuff? and maybe there is some ppl out there that just dont have the talent but like skiing, are you gonna judge who you can sell rossi scratches too by their skill? thats fucking stupid, neways i just wanted to get that out....

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

CTRipper yeah I guess banned was a pretty strong word, but I do believe that parents should at least show some caution when they're letting their five year olds ski straight down the middle of the halfpipe or snake a hit just to roll over the table. It gets a little ridiculous when you have to wait for a dad and his 3 little kids to finish straightlining the pipe to drop in.

 
THis past weekend i was at creek, i called my drop and went for the table top, as i was riding down some 10 year old snowboarder girl cuts me off..i was pissed, just right in front of me, and about parents and there kids, it must be restricted, some little 5 year old kid almost killed someone when he went off a tabletop and the guy that went in front of him fell, the little kids board came about 4 inches from the guys face...and if someone can afford new gear, then whatever...my opinion

At my hill, we have a park on a beginner run, but little kids don't cut me off very much n e more. The kids are afraid of us for some reason, so I guess you have to like beat em all up or something to keep them away.It's not a good idea, but in some places it might be the only way. I dunno why kiddies are affraid of me but it works out cause i didn't have to beat on ne one.

 
I have a very, VERY simple theory... I call it the missing sock theory.

Basically, what happens is that kids get bitched out because they do stupid things.. cutting people off whatever.. then they're trying HELICOPTERS... whatever.

The guys who are actually trying new/difficult stuff come back, and the bitches that cut them off and got bitched out are gone... like the sock in the dryer!!! just disappeared! WTF???

at anyrate, i don't know about your laundry, but about a month later.... you're folding your laundry and the sock returns! holy shit!!.....

the skiers that piss me off are the ones that think your their friend just cause your still a skier not a boarder, you know the one, they are still hoped up on the idea that boarding is renigade and all. I ski cause i prefer to ski but i hate the people that complain at what others do.

I cant stand it when people cut you off but I agree with morbumps4me, if you ride into the park hit a table and in the air see that someone is on the landing because they fell and are picking their shit up then its your fucking fault. You can't just expect people not to fall. I usually ride the park with a friend so he can check out the landing then I do the same for him. I also can't stand it when I drop in to hit a table and before I even hit it some stupid fuck drops in right behind me

 
for all the people saying we should kick kids out of the park. who decides which kids can and can't come in. they may be small, but may kick ass. I think that if someoe knows park etiqite(sp) they should be allowed in. if they don't follow it, then kick their ass out.
