just wondering how much money big name skiers get from their sponsors?

such as how much TNF, salomon, Scott, Armada, Monster, etc. pay their riders.

my friend also is trying to tell me that he thinks tom get 12k from Jiberish?

not many freeskiers are really rich i think i could only name Tanner and Jon to be REALLY rich

but then again your not a freeskier to become a billionare

Simon dumont and wallisch cuz they have huge sponsorships. I feel like most big name skiers maybe get about 15k from ther biggest sponsors so probably make about 50 k a year tops. I dont think, i dont know but, most skiers dont live the luxurious lifestyle. Although keep in mind that travel, gear, and lodging are subsidized for most big name skiers.

i bet redbull give more than 15k but jiberish definitly dont give 12k lololol

jon olson is the richest skier out there but its not because of skiing

its so situational per skier. You get more money for winning bigger comps which pays out what your sponsor's contract specifies. TV air time also is a factor, getting paid per second that sponsors logo is shown during a major event or network.

Well now that slope is in the olympics that could def change. i could see bobby coming up huge.

Simon? The over-the-hill pipe jock that currently doesn't have a ski sponsor?

LOL at kids that know nothing giving opinion. You dont make money being an athlete you make money being a business person.

read John Symms article in powder.

Simon makes 2.5 million bucks a year. but hes also sponsored by redbull, target and honda so their probaly big contributors. I know that Jon got paid $50,000 a few years ago by oakley just for wearing there goggles in the Xgames big air he won.

A certain skier I know, not necessarily a big name, got $5,000 for each contest won last year plus I believe they also matched the prize amount. That was from one sponsor.

Like others said, you don't become a pro skier to become rich. If you're really good at it, and good at marketing yourself, then I'm sure you could live a pretty comfortable lifestyle, but I doubt you are going to retire on what you make as a skier, unless a large amount of money comes into the sport.
