Skiers out gun snowboarders again.

Last spring Mack Dawg had June build them the biggest hip ever constructed. While filming Jerksen boosted a 34 foot method that unofficially set the wolrd record for highest snowboarder air on a hip. Well some skiers got to hit the hip too, for WAR, and of course showed the snowboarders up. Someone did a 37 foot(holly shit) air on it. I'm pretty sure it's Jon. It is in the new WAR trailer just briefly but I'm pretty sure it's Jon judging by the steez.

yeah we did out gun them, we had aks, and nines, and they brought .45 and .22s, it was quite a gun battle, they can really handle a gun, but we finished them

it was andreas I am pretty sure on the hip, but obviously skiers are going to go bigger. skiers can go faster. Why look at it as a competition anyway. we should be glad that skiers are sessioning with snowboarders like one big happy family

Wow, three fuckin feet. I'm all for skiing, but if a rollerblader goes higher than a skateboarder in a pipe, I definately don't consider the rollerblader the winner. They're two diffrent sports like skiing and snowboarding

I'm not sure what's sadder... the adversarial attitude taken by you and others in this thread, or your use of asterisks to denote action. Do you have any idea how dumb that looks? I don't care if you want to be a crusader for your sport (it's kind of pointless, anyone who isn't a douche respects snowboarding already), but don't do that AOLer shit.

Wester did a straight air bigger than hatveits 3 which has been seen already... (cover of WAR, also in Freeskier Issue 1)

Wester's air is the unoffical largest ski or snowboard air ever... The photo is retarded, it looks totally fake... It'll be in ski time.

For a frame of reference on those shots, the pole on the deck is 30 feet tall.. its the same pole that was in the Jon Olsson and Boyd Easley hip shots from a few years back. Jacob, Andreas, TJ, Symms, and Tony all went over the top of that pole.

Okay okay to set the record straight I have nothing against snowboarders. I subscribe to both Transworld and Snowboarder, I lived with a ride almost exclusively with my best friend who is a snowboarder, I spent the season at Northstar, second only to Mammoth as THE snowboard mecca of California. I'm almost as involved in snoaboarding as I am in skiing. I'm just saying that in the same situations, given the same conditions skiier tend to be able to out perform snowboarders. We've seen this over and over for the last few years.

I've never viewed the two sports as competing entities, rather two nearly identical sports intricatly connected since snowboarding's birth in the '70s. Snowboarding owns a lot to skiing and visa versa. The two will be forever linked because their commonalities run far deeper than their differences.

i think its dumb to make this a competition. i think that if skiers and snowboarders worked together, then we could bring both sports to new levels. By making this a competition we are taking skiing and snowboarding to new levels (figuritively and metaphorically), but by pushing eachother with a less serious competition, like when skiers session together, then it would push both sports to levels they have never reached before.

Skiers can go bigger, but so what. Alpine Ski jumpers go bigger than anyone. Does that make them cool? No. There is so much more to it than that; Style, creativity (which, sorry to say, snowboarders own over skiers) and tricks (they own us again).

boarders will never beable to go as large as skiers...the problem off of large drops is that you naturally open up on a borad and ass check...any monkey can do that

skis are faster and more stable...look at the amplitude in the halfpipe....give us another few years and boarderv will be shitting themselves in jealosy

not even close...i have competed in both disciplines...and skiing is way easier to go big
