Pro athletes in popular sports are making so much more, skiers deserve to be making millions too.. it takes so much skill, not to mention gigantic testicles (or ovaries for the girls rippin it up) to do what the pro's are doing nowadays. besides the superstars, like tanner, pep, jon, so the other skiers make a lot. does liam downey make nearly as much as tanner?

 
yea like what mike douglas said less than half skiers are making a decent living skiing, you do it for the love not for money, plus skiers will never make as much as say baseball because skiing applyies to a specific niche of ppl and doesnt have as wide a fanbase that equals less exposure which means less money

yeah really, since when has it been about the money. I don't think skiers need excessive amounts of money. they get to ski free every season. they DON'T need to be blingin. I don't think the right way to respect your sport is to ask for stacks of money.

One thing i love about extreme sports is the thin line between pro and not! The athletes make enough for what it is but bottom line they r doin what they love, and most are great guys who will interact with spectators and other skiers. Its just the atmosphere i dont want them to make millions and become too good for the sport and the fans like mainstream superstars!

they also get money for being in some videos. But skiers don't make shit compared to snowboarders. Some of those comps shell out like 50,000 to the winner.

Snowboarders make ridiculous bank - WAY more than what skiers make. Shawn White had a 2.5 million dollar contract last year. Yet another reason to support SKI companies. Why spend money on Burton, Volcom ect, - they’ll just give your hard earned cash to some snowboarder. Support the companies that support skiing!

 
these guys def won't ever get as much as a professional athlete in a mjor sport ever... im sure some of the guys make a decent living but for the most part most of these guys aren't making huge bank here. they are doing it cause they love the sport

the well knowns that make a decent living are older, like Mike D, Tanner, Pep and Jon are the key people of this sport and make the money. And while its nice to have, the younger ones such as kye, who dont make a good living, dont really need to, they live with their parents at home, and anything they dont get for free they buy or their parents buy, and that isnt that much... i am tlaking stuff like mtn bikes, paintball, whatever other stuff their are into.

but whatever by the time kye and those age kids are 20, the sport will be more recognized and pay more $

I think the problem is that other atheletes (ie: A-Rod) make too MUCH damn money... but most skiers make nothing.

To the ppl who said that skiers make pure profit since they dont pay for ski stuff.. is waay wrong. Skiers like seth spend almost all the sponsor money on filming trips.

Also.. being a professional skier is short lived so you better rake some $$$ in and invest it for later.

pro athletes do not deserve millions of dollars. They live the life that everyone of us dreams of and the yget paid to do it? in my opinion, teachers and nurses deserve far more than a pro athlete, in any sport.

The money comes from the spectators, and since there's not many people who are gonna freeze their ass off watching a skiing comp, ther's not gonna be much money. Other sporrts make lots because their are tons of fans paying lots of money at each game.

 
there are tons of people that watch skiing comps, its just since there not in hug buildings ment to hold millions and millions of people not THAT many people can watch skiing at the same time. Plus most major, NBA, NHL, and other athletic sports like that are broadcasted to millions of people every night but skiing gets like 3 nights of the year and is only on certain channels. I dont think its that people dont want to watch skiing, or snowboarding, lots of people just dont even get a chance

 
It's supply and demand. There are only a few guys in the entire world that can play like A-Rod, and there are millions of fans willing to pay to see him, so he's given an equilibrium salary. Maybe even below equilibrium.
