Skiers live a glamorous lifestyle.

if by glamorous you mean really fucking sick, then yea, our lifestyle is sweet. but like steve said above me. skiing is expensive, and most people have to make major sacrifices to ski. but we still do it because we love it and because it fulfills a part of ourselves. im going to drop a quote in here that has been popping up a lot lately on NS:

"You put on your boots, click into your bindings, dust the snow off your skis, and head out for the chair, and it doesn't matter that you failed a test, didn't get the girl, or that your life is on a one way trip down the shitter, your world is right for the next couple of hours."

It's about doing what you love with the people you love. So no skiing isn't glamorous even though it may seem like it with all the crazy colors people wear, but it is amazing. Better than glamorous.

And there's my rant.

I like to think i live a glamorous life style. I work in a bad ass shop, i get to ski one of the best resorts in the world . How many people get to live like me? then compare that number to the people who don't. i love this

yes we do i know skiing is expensive but i work all summer so i can ski and splurg on new gear. skiing is the only thing that i spend money on besides the essentials. i feel that the glamour is was you make it. not everyone has to have all the new gear it is simply some peoples choice. and i fell that it is glamourous becasue it is the best sport to be involved with. and if you become pro and get everything for free that it jsut icing on the cake.

he was asking how she defined a skier, like in terms of someone who just skis three weekends a year in their 6 million dollar aspen home or if she's talking about the local shredder who spends most nights washing dishes at the mangy moose so he can afford a season pass to jackson hole.

thugged out ghetto ski lifestyle......

even though most of us are relativley poor

"A skier: an escape from an overly cluttered world. An example of innovation at work; an inspiration to ski better this year than last; an answer to anyone who ever doubted that skiing and all it stands for can still provide one of the most exhilarating days on the planet; a reason to quit your job, sell your matching bedroom set, and move to the mountains once and for all; a motivational speech to anyone needing some twin tips and a fresh learning curve to revitalize their love of the sport; a few frames of A-roll footage for an up-and-coming filmmaker with a camera and a head full of fresh ideas; evidence that not every kid in the country is sitting around Super-sizing himself on drive-through fries and Xbox; an education for every person on a passing chairlift watching the sport evolve before their eyes; an expression of freedom like this insignificant string of words could never hope to capture."

Found this quote somewhere a few years back. If THIS is what you are talking about when you say "skiers live a glamorous lifestyle" then yes, you are correct.

Aparently you are retarded for not understanding the question, or understanding that it was for the starter of the thread since she just kinda started a topic without giving her own input...

i wouldnt trade skiing for anything, its not glamorous to most people, but i love it and that makes it glamorous to me.

haha

theres different levels of skiing from ski bums to rich celeberties that go to aspen. Freeskiers are genrally pretty high up on an overall social class scale. We have enough money to spend on gear, transportation, lift tickets, time, etc.

not really,If anyone reads mens health, look at the article about skiing lifestlye with about skiing lifestyle.it expalins it all.

only a hand full of pros really do live that lifestyle, jon for example. but most skiers are kids that spend all thier lawn mowing money on skis and lift tickets..i work a full time job and am able to buy ski stuff and have money left over, but i wouldnt say my lifestyle is glamorous, but at the same time, i save all the money i make minus ski shit.

the real question is: who joins NS and makes their first damn post by starting a stupid thread like this...

how many times has the "skiers are rich...no theyre not...yes they are..." argument gone down on this site? fuck...

the ski bum life is not glamorous

but the pro life is if your at the top of the compitition

i dont know if its glamorous but i know that im going to be skiing for the rest of my life and its probably going to effect how much money i make and it doesnt matter as long as im skiing.word

like its been said it's only glamorous if youre on the top of the totem poll, or your parents buy all your crap
