i think that the attituse that many of the skiers showed tonight made the sport look like a bunch of uneducated fools compared to the snowboarders. I think if are sport is to grow into the main stream like snowboarding has, we all need to seriously rethink the way we carry ourselfs.

thats how it might look now but look at when snowbaording hit its peak a couple years ago and the skiing we do is just beggining

 
that may be so but (in nz atleast) when u c boarders and skiier on the slopes etc. the boarders seem 2 have no respect wheres the skiers will usually stop 2 help ppl and dnt go round as if they own the slope unlike the boarders - not that i have nething against boarders

Yeah my boss watched the pipe last night, and said, what's with those kids, they skied well but... they act ridiculous. (granted he's not the targeted demographic) but that's prob what most the public thinks

 
yeah I don't get all this like C crew crap?? get over it, and yeah Dan Kass was actin like an asshole after his good run, but I thought it was so funny when schiller fogged up the camera lense, I laughed so hard, tanner acted like a bitch though and same with CR.

What's wrong with being cocky and acting flagrant? 2pac was a really skilled lyricist but he wouldn't have gotten nearly as much exposure or sold as many records without the image. Maybe Tanner figures it will sell skis. Remember, they don't have to be refined because they're marketed to teenage skiers, half or more of whom blaze the herb and rock baggy clothes.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
 
I'm glad there is other people out there with the same opinon on this topic as me. I couldnt believe the way some of the pros acted, especially at the very end when all of the Simons friends ran out and started acting like a bunch of faggots. I'm one of those people that dont give a fuck what other people do, but for the first time in my life I wanted to see them present themselves in a professional manner, for crying out loud there is thousands of people watching the xgames who dont ski, and after watching kids act like that what do you think their opinion will be on people who represent this sport... I think we need more people like Jon who present themselves respectfully and who look half way humble.

this is the xgames for fucks sake.. these guys are supposed to be having a good time, doing what they want, and not sticking to tight rules and conduct like Olympians (which most of these guys probably had the ability to become but didnt). if they want to go out there and act like rockstars then fucking eh. better that than a bunch of guys who never party because they're too busy working on how to act humble and give nice, civil interviews...

 
^ thats fine and good, but dont cry when they either start broadcasting the ski events next year at 4 in the afternoon on espn 5, or just drop them all together.

my mom and dad saw it and were stoked to see all the kids having a good time at the end. they thought it was funny. they never once mentioned their aditudes or lack of education. tanner sounded like an ass b/c he had just lost one of the most important things in his life and i'm sure the general public who has no idea who tanner hall is(or how he acts), could see that as well.

 
a good example of this was simons behavior after he won. i mean, you can be happy but, he pushed it. him and all those other dorks. get them the hell outta there and simon, take it calmly like a man instead of delcaring ur self winner for the second year in a row. if anyone watched the snowboarding pipe comp, antti autti basically threw it all out there on his last run and wowed people. the crowd was going nuts. he was deff happy, but he wasnt jumping around like a moron. he congratulated others on their runs and got interviewed and he said. 'i guess this is good then' thats the way antti, thats the way

what i am refering to is not the way the kids in you at your local hill act, but more how the pros, and the ambasadors to the public from skiing act,
