I snowboard. AND over all i have to say that i like skiiers just as much if not more. BECAUSE snowboarding is starting to sellout to little newb people. Right now Skiing keeps it super legit.
 
No they aren't.. people still see snowboarding as "cool" and skiing as 80 year olds in 80 year old fluro one pieces. But I agree skiers seem way more chill than snowboarders usually
 
i agree with the selling out to nubs, but i'd say thats just cause all the 8-13 year ols who are getting into winter sports see snowboarding as the cool thing to do then they just become posers.
 
all my friends who i ride with love skiing and are really relaxed and cool, and most of them have asked me to try it at one point or another. the snowboarders who are annoying tend to be the ones who get their parents to buy them a bunch of stuff and go 3 times a year and talk about how cool they are because they snowboard. if that made any sense

yeah i remember in like 97 there was a girl i knew who thought she was so much cooler cause she was into snowboarding and she dissed so hard on skiing and she sucked at snowboarding and broke her wrist, and even with her broken wrist she still acted like she cooler cause she snowboarded
 
I was in class today and this kid was like yeah, skiers suck. he probably sucks. I've noticed the boarders who can rip are cool to skiers, and the skiers who can rip are cool to boarders. we all just want to enjoy the mt. those who suck are the dicks who are like oooooh man snowboarding is so cool.
 
i would agree that a lot of kids get into snowboarding because its whats on TV.

but people who are dicks, but good boarders or skiers, are just every day dicks.
 
my friends and i hang out with a rly cool snowboarder and we dont even notice it, i 1/2 of the skiiers, know how to snowboard. and viseversa
 
This stuff is true. The good snowboarders get along mad good with skiiers. But the little poser kids that barely ride are like yea im the shit.
 
I think that the true (core, w/e) Skiers and Riders are basically the same sort of people. Sure there used to be hate, but thats mostly over now that freeskiers have proven themselves. All the animosity between the two sports comes from weekend warrior people that think its cool to hate. The fact is, if you are up there to have a good time, it doesnt matter what you ride, you cant have fun if you are constantly hating on each other. WEll, that doesnt really follow a constant train of thought... umm, yeah HAte is lame, sliding on snow is badass... nuff said

most skiers i meet are fuckin homos, most of the people i ski with are snowboarders cause they dont just talk about snowboarding all the time like how skiers ALWAYS talk about skiing. I think i have maybe 7 friends that ski because there cool off the mountain, most skiers i meet have shitty social skills and are fuckin losers.
 
though when i think of it, there are a lot of gay snowboarders too, but there are way more cool snowboarders than there are skiers
 
personally i like the snowboarders more than the skiers around here. theyre mad creative and alot more chill. a lot of skiers are bitches.
 
i really hate to break it to you dude but snowboarding sold out to newbs about 10 years ago. not that it's a bad thing. snowboard athletes are getting paid huge dollars in endorsements and are actually able to make a living snowboarding.

and no, skiing is still seen by the masses as the "uncool" thing to do. luckily mogul skiers in the olympics are begining to give the masses a taste of what skiing is turning into.

 
actually, a ton of people buy twin tips just because they have "cool" graphics and are for "trick skiing"
 
I'm only friends with like 3 actually core snowboarders who can spin more than a 1 with style and they're probably some of the easiest going kids on and off the slopes.

and i dont know as many but ik 3 that are also mad chill and gooD

Friends to me it doens't matter ski or board, w/e they are both fun

i hate noobs that are fake and talk shit specially when they

don't know what kind of bindings they own lol
 
no one skis where i come from, they ALL board. when i go to the HILL I am always the only skier there, then sometime there will be some little Nancy green kids and thats it. 70+ percent of the boarders are ass holes. All they do is cut in front to get to the tow faster or beak if they see you hit a rail. Its so gay. On the other hand when i go to the mountains i usually go with people who can board because our skillz are about the same.
 
yeah me and my snowboard friend have noticed that comments in snowboard edits and trailers tend to be like "that sucked" or "gay" or "you suck" or "worst edit" whereas in skiing it tends to be "sick" or "awsome" or "best edit ever"
 
whoever said, 'snowboarding sold out to noobs 10 years ago' thats great maybe it did. but skiing is being sold out to noobs NOW and there all really gay, thats passed with snowboarders i find, not as many noobs as there are skiers
 
i've had my fair share of both skiiers and boarders who were dicks, but yeah, the majority of skiers are pretty chill.
 
alot of kids are posers at my place my best friend snowboards and were the same way about stuff...if you can rip your cool with us if you cant your wearin sweet stuff then you suck...granted we dont go up to kids and rip on them but if they are on the lift well talk to them and if there new we undertand thats the way i like to roll
 
Just like people see rollerblading as "lame" and skateboarding as "cool" when really its not that different. Some skateboarders are real dicks to rollerbladers though when they have no right to be...We deserve to be in the park just as much as them but I notice that rollerbladers never really give skaters a hard time unless the skater starts shit with them...Just venting...
 
Only the snowboarders that talk themselves up to try and sound better, then just sit at the top of the terrain park and do nothing because they suck are dicks, I've met some really nice borders, like older more experienced guys who will go all mountain boarding and not just stay in teh terrain park and talk themselves up.

i actually do agree that skier are cooler than snowboarders usually.  i like snowboarding and i ski with a bunch of them.    but ive noticed recently that alot of them are just really cocy assholes.  like they are becoming the football players of snow.  

like last year me and my friend were just sitting down to rest far away from the inrun to this rail, like atleast 30 feet away from where you would be if you were gonna hit it. and this snowboarder comes behind me and sits down too with all his friends. and after like 20 seconds he says "how about you get the hell out of the way"  so my my friend goes " awww does mr. gwumpy need a hug?"  and tries to hug the snowboarder, so he flips the fuck out saying how we are so gay and how skiing is so lame and stuff.   we just laugh at him and keep making stupid comments about how he is grumpy and so serious.   then one of my snowboarder friends like 20 feet away yells something like "hey badass! your really impressing us with how tough you are"    or something and tells him to quit snowboarding cause he makes them all look like uptight faggots.  then the ass hole snowboarder gets up and goes to the rail and tries just boardslide and totally eats shit.  so everyone is laughing at him and then we all do a train with gayper tricks off as he is lying on the ground like a fag.    

and there are alot of snowboarders like that i noticed, with a shitty serious attitude and they think they are the shit. though there are still alot of cool snowboarders.  

but i hardly ever see skiers like that.
 
theres not too many snowboarders at my mountain that go to the park, but whenever they come from different mountains to hit up our park for the day they seem pretty chill. i remember one kid who i'd never met was pulling cork 7's on his board and he saw me do one too so we just started talking. real chill guy.

at my old mountain, most of the snowboarders were dicks to the kids who sucked but if you were better than them they never really gave u a hard time. That is the worst right there, when people do that shit to little kids or the kids who arent so good. i try and confront them whenever they pull that shit

but the reason why there are so much more assholes that board than assholes that ski is because there are like 10 times more posers that snowboard because snowboarding is "the cool sport" and most of the posers are jackasses.
 
they are 2 completely different communitys. skiers (most of them) love and respect almost every aspect of the snow sports

snowboarders on the other hand. if you don't do it you are automatically gay, but a lot of them have seemed to be coming around lately.

anytime im asked if im a snowboarder i say no, im a skier, and they instantly think i must suck and that any snowboarder is way better than me
 
I think some boarders switch from skiing in like GR.5 because it is supposed to be cool, but it dosn't matter to much. My friend switched from skiing to boarding ecause he said he had a bad crash and almost broke his neck.

oh but this one time when i was a lil kiddie i tumbled halfway down the top of siberia and lost my skis and all these skiers were passing me by and laughing, including my dad (he wasn't laughing though) and then finally these snowboarders stopped and brought me my skis back and helped me up and were all yelling "you can do it, kid, yeah!" and rode back ot the lift with me. they were super nice.
