Skiers and Weed

Hate all ya want, I have never smoked weed in my life. Never will. But I ride with kids who have/frequently do blaze when skiing.

Why do people smoke while skiing? Does it actually help with anything? Or is skiing just not fun without drugs to some people? Not trying to troll or anything, seriously wondering. Why smoke (and ski)?
 
Skiing is both fun with, and without weed. I only smoke weed at the end of the day and ride pretty lazily. If i'm trying a new trick, i will not be high for it, because that seems more dangerous to me.

Can't judge it if you haven't tried it
 
Why do you think they made it legal in Colorado and Washington, for medicinal reasons? No! They made it legal so that skiers like us could go and smoke a joint while we go and ski.

skied high a few times, not a big fan hitting anything remotely big, not a fan of my legs not feeling 100% when I'm hitting big jumps..
 
sometimes I have trouble trying new things or hitting bigger features when I'm blazed, but then I just visualize ski boss in my head and BOOM BOMB CONNECT
 
Don't make a thread proclaiming that you'll never smoke weed and then ask what reasons people do it for. You've already decided so it seems kind of stupid. It's kinda like saying hey guys I'm an atheist but I just wanna know like what are some reasons you all believe in god? I just wanna know what viewpoints I'm not gonna be listening to.

And really u should just try it, that'll answer your questions on the subject better than anyone here.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being curious in this case, and it doesn't seem like OP was condescending to those who smoke by saying he does not/will not

Because its fun as fuck. It makes you not even give a single shit about anything. It eliminates any fear or thought of falling. You just don't care about falling when your high.
 
wondered same thing... guess it's just like enjoying a good pizza or something while watching a ski movie lol

haven't smoked ever either, so I wonder, too, what's the benefit to skiing?

I don't smoke either, without trying to sound rude or anything but I feel like it could be tough to ski really technical stuff. Or in the trees because of the slower reactions. Now occasionally you will hear people say stuff like I ski better while high. That maybe true, but I think your high so you don't really realize how good your doing.
 
I smoked almost every time I went skiing this year.

I mostly did it because "I could" and I just liked smoking while skiing and wanted to see how it effected my abilities and it really didn't effect anything. I even mixed some adderall with it and the amount of focus you have is retarded. Aside from that, fuck adderall, done with that for good.

I believe that it actually made me ski better at times. It definitely depends on your tolerance. If your tolerance is high, it will be way easier for you to ski properly. I don't want to generalize and i understand your thinking, but i would give it a shot just for shits and giggles. I skied with a friend who was awful when he smoked and could not control it and i was the opposite. Everyone is different though, whatever works for you.

my favorite time to smoke is while skiing. brings me completely into the moment and somehow am able to feel the flow/transitions/edges better while high. I don't like to smoke all the time because it can make you paranoid and dumb but weed and skiing go together like peas and carrots
 
It doesn't actually help anything, if your doing it with friends it's more fun. Not saying skiing isn't fun by itself because it is. I don't think you should always be high when you ski, but sometimes is ok. I'm sure anyone who's ever smoked can tell you it makes anything more enjoyable
 
Its not that skiing isnt fun without weed at all. Weed does different things to different people depending on the strain and shit. personally i like to smoke on a mellow day when im not trying anything serious.
 
Never been that much into weed, but I was wondering if a mod could put in a poll in the op asking if you ski better, same or worse high.

Agreed. That'd be sick to see. I've got nothing against people who smoke, or smoke and ski... sorry if I gave that impression. A ton of my friends smoke while skiing.
 
I don't like smoking and skiing too much because I just wanna stay on the lift and talk with people... But drinking and skiing... When I'm drunk I'll try and trick you name

Why such a strong opinion? I mean, I'm not advocating you go out and smoke meth or shoot up, but if you're going to say 'never, ever' for weed you are going to miss out an many, many experiences throughout life that could drastically improve your perception of your surroundings.

Note: I'm not saying you MUST smoke weed, but instead I am saying that having a mentality of such strong reservations as to what you will and won't do without dealing with life situationally might lead you to a place where it becomes hard to relate with others in life. (holy run on sentence!)
