Who's had it? How soon after the initial injury did you get surgery? How long was the recovery and whats the rehab like? I tore my ucl completely in March and am finally going to see a doc on wednesday. Should I wait till next summer and risk further scar tissue and discomfort or get surgery sooner?

depends on what the doc says but anytime this kinda stuff happens you should deal with it right away. you could always no poles it

or get those cool little poles that have a thing that goes around your thumb and clicks into the pole so you dont have to grab it

not sure man, i nearly had to have UCL surgury after shattering my thumb socket and tearing the related muscles and ligaments, but the consultant concluded once the bruising had gone down it should pretty much healed, its still sketchy but they gave me a dope splint.

good luck man, i know how much a thumb injury can screw with your life, haha

i was pretty close to having surgery on both my thumbs. they healed back pretty good. only now my ligaments are stretched a lot and i can do some wierd shit that other people cant.
