Skier snowboarder clash

true its either the noobs, or sometimes (not stereotyping) the tight pant, jean jacket, rayban wearing snowboarders that are obnoxious as fuck in the lift line, always start shit, buts it definetly not just them.

but what pisses me off is when you get the 12 year olds that think their the best at the hill and they cut you off. but i have friends that board and there ight. but at my hill which is just a park, us skiers rule the jump line and the pipe, all the snowboarders stay on the small jumps and boxes.
 
no joke. i was on the liftline with an 18ish year old snowboarder and we were just talking but then when you meet people at school who automatically rip on skiing and talk about how snowboarding is so much cooler. Thats where all the hate comes, skiers (maybe just me?) who cant fucking stand kids like that, and the snowboarding kids who are like that
 
Most of the kids i ride with are boarders. Theres only a couple other skiers that we ride with once in a while. I only hate on boarders if its provoked but even if someone says something there usually just joking around and dont mean anything by it. If some other d bag boarder is trashing me for skiing my boarder buddies usually got my back.
 
No, because Tanner is good people. He's completely down to earth and just generally really happy to be skiing and seeing people enjoying the sport he enjoys. Moreover he legitimately can be called the best in the sport and has been in that position for years. I don't know anything about Shaun White as a person, only that he's a comp performer first and foremost, but that whole cult of personality thing doesn't really match anyone in skiing. Nobody in this sport has their own HP commercial, for one thing.
 
we both have the same goals in life to race down hills covered in fluffy snow and have a good time doing it

earlier in the thread there was people talking about the younger kids (8-12) thats true and its just a thing that kids do i guess
 
i dont think it was really biased, its just that probably only a quarter of the voters were actually skiers, and to non-skier a double front looks better than pks trick
 
Of course there was a bias.....
1.) He's an American. Amurricans aren't going to vote for some random scando. Especially over a handsome young All-American kid. The voting was only open to the U.S. Come on.
2.) For at least 2 years, Simon has been featured in Winter X promos, "storylines" (battling with Tanner), and he even had a bio segment. He was on Fucking Ellen. If you think his exposure to the audience had nothing to do with his bias, you're high...or stupid. And, judging by your utter failure to recognize the "rockering skis" thread as an out and out joke....I'm leaning to the latter.
 
I love snowboarding with my friends its so sick what they can pull of jibbin around and shit and i respect them for their ability to do that kind of shit. Whereas they respect skiiers on jumps since so many guys right now are just doing all this crazy stuff like dub cork 12's and double grabs and all that. It all equals out and the only hate i see is like everyone has been saying, its those little kids who havnt learned to share the mountain and dont understand that they look like assholes, but they will learn
 
the worst is when u say ur going skiing and people are like ohh u snowboard .... im like no i ski .. and there like fag snwboarding is soo cooler only old people ski ... then i try telling them the pros of skiing and there like snowboarding is still cooler .. thats the only thing that pisses me off
 
half of my crew is snowboarders. as long as they arent ignorant, then there is no prob. i know some pros and they know some of our pros, but when they think snowboarding is the only way, then i want to smear their faces in the East Coast ICE!
 
Oh alright. I wasn't sure if Tanner Hall was the same way but im glad to hear he's not. Shaun White is only happy when he wins which is pathetic.
 
i myself like most snowboarders we shread powder on powder days together, we ski the park together and actually some of them help me progress and challenge me

the only time i hate on them is if they LOVE burton and think there cool just because they snowboarders
 
I just hate the snowboarders who chose snowboarding because its "cooler".
I ski with snowboarders, I respect them and they respect me...
 
I ski, and ride almost only with snowboarders partly because of where I ride and partly because they have a way better outlook on tricks and riding. The only people who hate either suck and think snowboarding is rebellious still and skiers who scoff at anyone in the park including other skiers... or 15 year olds who think they're too cool for everything! (don't get me wrong some 15 year olds can throw down!)
 
id have to say, looks is a pretty big part of it. im not talking about outerwear, gear or whatever, which may be what your friends were talking about(?) but i personally will not do a trick if i do not like the way it looks. i ski and snowboard, i think certain things look much better in each, and like specific aspects of each. to say that someones choice was dependent on the way the athletes dress is one thing, but having your choice dependent on the way either sport is performed is completely reasonable.
 
I mainly ride with snowboarders and thers no hate, its pretty cool actually, to see both sports progressing, but the thing I hate is how ignorant people n ever see skiing as an extreme dope sport. LIke most people in my town when you say you ski ther like, why dont you snowboard, you look like a snowboarder, and skis go into terrain parks? and im like..wtf godamit.
 
i only hate the boarders that think their sport is better than ours. one kid at my mountain was making fun of me, "are you going to do a 360? what about that rail can you even do that?" i showed up his ass in front of his friends with 540 and a 270 out. i stopped to see him hit the rail but he only slipped back and landed on the rail with his ass
